I'm a new RN in NJ, but I may be moving to NY due to family issues. I'm trying to apply for reciprocity in NY, but I'm not exactly sure what steps need to be taken. Anyone know how it works and how long it would take? Do I have to go back to school and get my transcripts sent over to the BON for NY and re-do my fingerprinting? Any info would be appreciated.

Your fingerprints won't transfer. You need to apply for a nursing license by endorsement and follow the instructions from the NY BoN. Only the NCLEX is reciprocated
You will also need NY specific continuing education in infection control & abuse prevention
