:redbeathe i sent two applications (gen nurse & auxiliary nurse) i hope one will be approved!

i know someone in oslo who went through 3 weeks of studying the language (besides the bergen's test preparation), several weeks in studying psychiatry, care for the elderly, and ms and 3 months of hospital training before he was granted with a general nurse authorisation. it is a long process but it will be worth it once done for sure.

i'm hoping to get my license (high hopes actually lol) after 4-5 months. oh jesus!

does anyone knows how much is a house rental in norway?or apartment or whatever it's called there?

i'm currently learning the language through google translate.

i applied as a general nurse initially but got denied. then i re-applied as a auxiliary nurse but they gave me a helsefagarbeider.

Oh, Okay. Thanks. I haven't heard of any PH RN who was granted with a general nurse authorisation beforehand, so what I did was--i sent two applications. i hope it's a good idea, let's see :redbeathe.....

I'm planning to apply as an auxiliary nurse in Norway. I just visited the safh website & I've seen the requirements but can anyone please tell me the exact documents you've sent to safh. I want to avoid sending wrong documents. Do I need to have for example my school documents be certified true copy by the school first then have it notarized by a lawyer or just have it notarized by a lawyer direclty?

I've been working for 2 years as a nurse volunteer, do you think I have a chance to be granted the license?

Good for you seaciel. Where are you heading in Norway. I also know one agency that helps Filipino nurses, they are based in Haugesund. Did you apply for or hjelpepleier autorisasjon?

That I don't know axel. I'll meet ms.**** tomorrow to see whats in store of her offer. I guess you'll be there also tomorrow?She said a group of nurses will come over her place or rather the school for orientation. Will see whats the outcome of the orientation tomorrow, But I'm definitely sure NORSK LANGUAGE is very much NEEDED.

i've already applied for safh authorisation for the third time now..my first application was denied since i applied for general nurse in the form but i still dont have any working experience that time,,the second time safh advised me to just have student visa and study there i applied sykeplier that time,,,this time i applied for helsefag arbeider, idont know if i have the chance of getting an safh authirisation again this time,,,i am currently working at psychiatri facility for over a year now,,i badly needed some advice,,thank you very much for you time...

i'm guessing you will be granted with the license by this time because safh doesn't grant sykepleier authorisation right away, you have to do a lot of work before you'll get it. what they usually give is either hjelpepleier or the one you applied for. best of luck!!

Hello seaciel!

here's my timeline:

Nov. 2010- sent all the documents to SAFH

Dec. 2010- 3rd week of December, I received a letter from SAFH informing me of the fee to be paid.

January 4, 2011- paid the fee.

April 2011- (2nd week, can't remember the specific date) received a letter informing me that they need a copy of my passport copy, certificate of employment and Board Certification from nursing to be certified by a lawyer (or notary public, educational institution, authorizing body or any person stated on their guidelines.) on each page. I sent a copy of it authenticated by DFA but, according to their guidelines, each page should be certified with an official seal and stamp. They gave me 3 months time to process the papers that they need. All those papers are due on or before July, 01, 2011.

Hi How long from the day you received a letter from SAFH requesting you to pay are you allowed to pay? I mean does it have an expiration? Because in my case, I received a request to pay the processing for SAFH but wast able to pay it until now since last year I got pregnant and decided not to pursue going to Norway that time, but now, I am thinking of pursuing the plans I had last year. Is it still okay for me to pay SAFH this time or its not valid anymore since its been almost 16months already since I received the letter from them. I really need help. Thanks a lot!
