I have applied to the school but I do not think I will have all my prerequisites finished to apply for the upcoming nursing program. I am curious to be apart of this thread so I can have some insight for the future! Good Luck and keep us posted!! I would love for you to share stats and experience if you feel comfortable.
Welcome, Wendilee! I was beginning to think that no one else here was applying! My first Bachelor's is in History. My overall GPA is 3.9, with a 4.0 for the prerequisites. I have been volunteering at a local hospital for about a year and a half now, but my normal job is in business. Even with my GPA, I am having a hard time getting into CU-Denver (3rd time applying this round), so am looking at Metro State and CSU Pueblo as alternatives. Metro just got their warning removed from their credentialing agency, and is fully accredited until 2021, which is exciting! Which prerequisites are you missing? I had to take the additional 3 (pathophysiology, developmental psychology, and nutrition) after taking the ones for CU. I actually really enjoyed the extra classes at Front Range, but I'm sure it depends on the instructor.
Hello everyone! I also applied to MSU Denver's ANO program starting in Spring 2014. I am getting antsy to hear back! I completed all of the pre-requisites and now I am just playing the waiting game! I currently live in Lubbock, Texas and work as a night time CNA at a rehabilitation hospital. I have a BA in Psychology from Texas Tech University, and I am really hoping to get into MSU Nursing so that I can have a change of scenery! I had called up to the nursing department about a week ago because I needed to change my address that I had originally used for the application, and the lady I spoke with told me that if I hadn't heard anything back by the second week in October to call back and check on my application status. I have been checking my connect U g-mail account obsessively hoping to see something, even though I know we aren't supposed to hear back until October. Anyone else have any good information? Thanks! Fingers crossed for all of our acceptance :)

I'm not sure what date they said you'll receive your notification, but mine, last year's cohort, came exactly on Nov 1st -- the predetermined date. I'm confident that anyone who enters Metro's program will be satisfied. There are a few bumps, but in comparison to other programs regionally and nationally, for the most part, I'm happy with what I've paid for. I'm sure there are a ton of questions, but one thing I'll say is that the load isn't too bad. If you have previous clinical experience, the program is very manageable, and if you need to work, you could probably get away with 20hrs/week. However, we have lost 5 students due to maintaining exam standards (77% cumulative), but that's pretty atypical. Good luck.
I was put on the alternate list. Not good news, but not necessarily bad either. I was told that I would be notified by email by the January 21st start date if a spot opens up for me. The complicated thing is that I've been accepted to DSN and that program starts on January 6th (I think). My fear is that I will start at DSN and then be told a spot at Metro is then available. Hopefully I'll hear from Metro soon... Congrats to those who got in!

I am very excited to say that I was accepted. I am going to the information session tonight to see what I can find out about financial aid and clinical placements. Hopefully I will be able to meet some fellow students there as well.
I wanted to note that MSUD just instituted a traditional option program that will begin Spring 2014, and applications for it are due November 1st. I first learned of this about a week ago while perusing their website, and was going to apply to it if I was not accepted to the ANO. I was surprised that I had heard nothing of it prior. If you were waitlisted or not accepted, you should apply!

I haven't seen a thread for those applying to this program yet so I thought I would start one. This thread is for anyone applying for the Accelerated Nursing Option (ANO) at Metro State University in Denver. I know there are a few older forums for this program, but I think it is smaller and not much discussed. I just submitted my first application (just to be admitted to Metro State) and plan on submitting my nursing application soon after. Anyone else out there in the same boat?
