I'm not sure what date they said you'll receive your notification, but mine, last year's cohort, came exactly on Nov 1st -- the predetermined date. I'm confident that anyone who enters Metro's program will be satisfied. There are a few bumps, but in comparison to other programs regionally and nationally, for the most part, I'm happy with what I've paid for. I'm sure there are a ton of questions, but one thing I'll say is that the load isn't too bad. If you have previous clinical experience, the program is very manageable, and if you need to work, you could probably get away with 20hrs/week. However, we have lost 5 students due to maintaining exam standards (77% cumulative), but that's pretty atypical. Good luck.

Juan, First off, I want to thank you for all the advice you've shared on this forum. It's not very often I notice someone who's as eager to help as yourself. In regards to post-masters work, how does it work exactly? Can you start by earning one masters, say FNP, then take post-masters work to qualify for ACNP? It looks like a lot of the curriculum overlaps so is that how the post-masters work was designed? I'm just a little confused and don't want to live in BFE for 3 years because that's the only place that offers my desired degree. Let me know, bud. Thanks. Mike

Hello everybody, Glad to see people are utilizing this thread and have taken it a step further into the wonderful world of facebook! The immunization records are kind of a pain but you should be able to work through it. As far as FAFSA goes, I received my amount and it's not providing much financial freedom. The interest rate is 6.8% which will hurt but I suppose it's one of our only options. Anyone find a better rate at a local credit union? Also, coming from Detroit, I need to find new health insurance. The health insurance provided by the school is around $150/month but it looks pretty good. Anyone know of a good insurance provider in Denver that's reasonably priced and has descent coverage? I feel a little handicapped because of my location and I apologize to keep asking questions I could probably figure out with hours of research but we're all in this together and would appreciate some advice. Have either of you completed your background, drug test and immunization requirements yet? I just started mine and it looks like things aren't moving as quick as I anticipated. Any advice on efficiency?

That's a good way of looking at it - we'll be getting a good education with them on their toes. It could also go against us if they're over critical but I don't see that happening. I'm moving from Detroit in early January with my girlfriend and we're looking for flats in Cheesman/Capitol Hill. I'm planning on using public transportation and I heard that area is pretty conducive for that so I hope it works out. My friend from Detroit who lives in Cheesman also said the area is real hip and pleasant to live in. How old are you? Background? It would be nice if others in our class would jump on this forum.

Hey Carly, I totally understand your stress level, I actually just quit my job tonight!! I talked to the head of the program in depth and she provided me comfort in their continuing accreditation. I would agree with you in saying things are quiet on the western front but I don't know how many people use this forum. Like you, I've been trying to get into nursing school for awhile and it was a huge relief when I read my acceptance letter. I'm confident Metro will be granted continuing accreditation for they've had a long relationship with the NLN and have been working intimately with them on advancing their program. In all honesty, they probably needed this shake up and will do the program justice. Either way, I'm coming to Denver in January. Did you accept your seat?

Hello there, Just creating a thread to see if anyone who has applied to the ANO program wants to talk about it. I've looked around and haven't found much on it but was wondering if anyone wanted to share what they've learned. I know they're in a "warning" status from the NLNAC but apparently they've addressed all the necessary matters and are awaiting to be rejudged. Let's hear some thoughts!

Got the interview too. It looks like there only 10min long so it's a time to make or break it for yourself. I would dress nice and come with strong answers. Let me know how the interviews go!

Does anyone know what the average prerequisite GPA for admission into the program?

I'm an applicant for Fall 2012 and had my transcripts sent to Metro for review of my patho class. I took patho at a community college in metro Detroit and they said it would transfer. However, this was an "unofficial" decision so we'll see if I get a surprise in a few months. For the good people who are currently enrolled or graduated from metro, would you be so kind as to share your thoughts on the program? I'm from Detroit and while I would move to Denver in a heartbeat, I would like some reassurance that this program is worth it. I've been talking with one of the heads of the program about their accreditation status and she says everything will be taken care of. How are the facilities and faculty? Are things run efficiently? Please shed a little light for I would truly apprecite it. Thank you. -Mike
