Applying to Kingwood college nursing for spring 2014

Published

Hi! My name is Lotoyia. I just completed all my per-req.'s for the nursing program and will be taking the hesi next month. Does anyone have any tips on the A&P section? Is anyone else applying and if so what is your score you are applying with?

I'll be applying there too! I take my hesi in about 15 days though. Hopefully, we'll both get in!

How many points do you currently have Normandy? I hope we both get in as well............. I have been studying like crazy for this hesi.. I take it aug. 30th. How about you?

Hello, i too want to apply for the LVN program haven't decided if at Lonestar yet. I've done all my pre reqs at San Jac North I wanted to ask for an opinion on a good study guide for the HESI exam.

I bought "Hesi admission assessment exam review edition 3" by Elsevier, but I also do the study questions on this hesi website.

I have the same study guide as nurseprince. I'll be taking the Hesi on Augest 5th!

As for the points, if you're referring to the "Ranking Criteria for Admission," I'm sitting at 8 points. I just gotta get this Hesi test of the way to get another possible 4 points (fingers crossed!). Then I'll be applying as soon as I can.

@ Normandy , I. Just found out the evolve 2nd edition would be good for the hesi as well. Friend of mine just finished school and that is what she recommended.

@Normandy and nurseprince, I recently took the Hesi test on May 30, and June 11, 2013, needless to say I didn't pass 1st go-round, but aced the 2nd. This is a six section test, my most difficult was biology and math, the 2 I failed. Biology section is mainly your first bio class, not AP 1 and 2 or Micro, unfortunate for me I never took Biology so I had to study real hard, and math consist of a lot of measurements(i.e. cups, lbs, oz, grams, mg, etc.) fractions, ratio and porp. I was so nervous the 2nd time i began to by all these different hesi exam books, spending lots of $. Fortunately I ran into someone who took the hesi a year prior and advised me to purchase HESI ELVISER ADMISSION ASSESSMENT and it helped tremendously, so questions on the test were verbatim to the practice questions in the book. So just thought, I'll share that blessing that was shared with me. Don't make yourself overworked, some books and online practice questions will only confuse you. I found that one book I purchased didn't compare to the test, so just be careful. HESI ELVISER is the company that administers the test, so use their book.

PS.. I was accepted to LVN to RN via San Jac Central, I start in August. So proud of me!!!! You guys can do it!!! Stay grounded and faithful. God Bless :):snurse::up::yes:

@ GrayT congrats, but thankfully I only have to take math, English, and a&p.

We can form a study group and help each other

Hey, I saw your post and I wanted to know if you had any tips for me as far as the A&P and biology. I took Biology 131 several years ago so I have some knowledge but its been a while. Any advice would be great even what you used to study. I have the book but I feel like that may not be enough.

Thanks!!!
