Applying for Jobs During COVID 19

Published

So I know this isn’t nearly as important compared to what is going on in the world RN- but I figured I’d still ask. I graduated with my BSN late last year and it took me 6 months to secure a position. Despite having graduated with honors, prior experience in the medical field, volunteer hours etc. I finally got a position in February signed my offer letter, and was given a start date for June. Unfortunately they just notified me that they have to rescind the offer because of COVID-19. I completely understand but it’s still frustrating. The recruiter said they may resume hiring in July but she isn’t 100% sure. I will be coming up on a year without any job and that is super concerning. With all of that being said should I even bother trying to get another job or just wait?

I graduated in December, got licensed in January, got a job offer in March. I went through the drug screen, badge, background check, the whole on boarding process, signed an offer letter, etc. A week before starting, they told me my orientation was on hold due to COVID. I’m scared they might rescind the offer. I know how it feels. They should have just put your employment on hold. I don’t know what part of FL you’re in. Waiting until July isn’t that bad but I feel the struggle. I would keep sending applications out just in case you do get a call.

Thank you so much, there is still no update other than my recruiter saying she expects to receive an update soon. I've continued to put in other applications and most all places have told me the same thing-recruitment is on hold for the time being. I really hope everything has gone well with your orientation! However- if they did end up rescinding the offer, stay hopeful you will end up at the perfect job for you at the right time! ?

any updates? It's Mid-June seems like they should know something...

I am concerned about what effects of FL potentially being the "next epicenter" will have on the already decreased job prospects.
