Applying to Duke ABSN Spring 2017

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi guys! I'm applying to Duke ABSN program for the spring 2017 cohort! I'm graduating in May and my school has really bad GPA inflation so my grades are really borderline... :(

But it's a good school though. Does anyone know if Duke put any weight on how prestigious your undergrad school is? And my transcript will be updated after May (and my GPA will be higher) but the deadline is May 1st. Does anyone know if they take late transcript? Or can we update them with our grades?

I'm also working on getting LOR's, one from a professor, one from a nurse that I worked with, one from a student instructor.

Any tips?!

And since there hasn't been a Spring 2017 cohort discussion, I thought I should go ahead and start it, so we can be nervous together.

Thanks!

Hi Sunshinexoxo1991!

Thanks for your posting. I'm admitted to ABSN and I'm excited and also nervous about the coming semesters. Could you please share your experience (first semester in particular)? I'm kinda nervous about certain courses like pharmacology and pathophysiology and time management. Also, time-wise, do you see a need to have a car for clinicals?

Thanks!

Hello! Has anyone else from the waitlist heard anything? Wondering if people just heard 7/29 or if there was another round. Thanks!

For those that were accepted, can you share a bit about your profile? What your GPA was, what experience you have, how you approached your personal statement? I am applying for the Spring 2018 cohort

Could you share your GPA and experience etc. you applied with? I am applying for the spring ABSN 2019 and want to get a feel for who they accept. Thank you!!

anyone have any advice or information on being waitlisted? Thanks I live in CA and i am waitlisted and am stressed about finding out if I got accepted 1 week before the program starts? Or if i should just give up now since the program begins 1/2018....thanks so much for the help.
