I am applying for my DEA as an adult geriatric nurse practitioner. I cannot find the answer anywhere-
when applying for your DEA do you have to have a collaborative prescriptive agreement in order to get the DEA #? when I go through the application process it does not look like it allows me to supply anyting. however in the directions it says that it is necessary.
Do I go ahead and get it anyway? most jobs will not hire you unless you already have a DEA. So I'm confused as to, do I get the prescriptive agreement first before getting the DEA, or vice versa

This is greatly dependent on what state you're in. Please do not submit until you know for sure because there are no refunds (I.e, kiss that $731 goodbye). If you're in Texas, don't do it until you have a PAA in place and filed with the TX Medical Board.

This is state dependent.
In filing out the DEA application you do need to have a business address - so I would think it makes sense to have a job offer before completing DEA application. I started mine before I had a job (you can save application) and then submitted with employment address once I had a job offer.
