Hey, just wanted to see if anyone else is applying for the Nursing program at CCRI for Spring 2017. So nervous!
I applied to Warwick as my 1st choice with 183 point as well. Hopefully it'll be enough. Wish they weren't using cumaltive gpa (especially since it was from when I was 17 now I'm 35) it's so much better now but oh well. Good luck everyone! Heard we should know something by the week of 9/23
I just got everything together and submitted my app with 187 points. I'm nervous but when I went to the info session last month I was told that the lowest score they accept is usually in the high 170s so that's good! For finding out if you're accepted I've heard people say they found out a few days after and a few said that they heard a few weeks after.
Kperotta,
I think it all depends on the pool of applicants and their scores since there is no "standard range". It also depends on if you picked just one campus or a few. When I only picked one campus it popped up with a warning that it would limit my chances of getting accepted.
Advising had said to me that the last application period in the spring the lowest score accepted was 178.6
Hi again! About the transfer credits: when I went to a nursing info session I asked about transfer credits and I was told that the transfer credits don't count towards your cum GPA in the nursin app, they only calculate your admission GPA based on classes you've taken at CCRI. I transferred in and took 1 class and got an A so my cum GPA is a 4.0 so 40 points.
imreallyjohn127- that transfer credits might be possible , but I think if you already have a degree, then they take the degree you have with the total GPA from that school that you graduated from.
It is hard to say with my credits because I had taken CCRI courses in high school, before my degree from another school, then again after my degree back at CCRI for courses and I don't know how they exactly came up wit my cum GPA. I do know my Cum GPA is lower than my pre-req GPA and my Nursing program GPA so that kind of stinks for my points.
Yeah, I was told they will only use my pre-req classes for my GPA- basically they duplicate it- cum gpa & pre-req will be same until I take more CCRI classes. My degree was biological/health science BS from good university so feel it's odd out of all my classes, including grad school- 3 classes transferred to this school & wont be included in my cum gpa. Oh well, I've gotten different versions from everyone in nursing admin & CCRI admissions office. I think they make it up as they go. Lol
