Apply before BSN completion?

Nursing Students SRNA

I will be finished with my BSN in March. I am currently an RN with two years ICU experience. Should I begin the application process this year or should I wait until I am officially finished with my BSN? What are your thoughts?

Renee

Apply now. I applied and was awarded interviews before completion, esp. if you have strong grades. Get your CCRN-it helps alot-IMO.:yeahthat:

Congrats Renee,

I just finished my BSN last month too. I applied last summer to the CRNA program at Univ of Tenn (Two semesters shy of my BSN). They would have interviewed me, because they felt that I was a competative candidate, but ultimately chose not to because there were two people in a similar situation that they did not want to have to make the exception for, so they wind up telling me to just re-apply after completion. I think that it just really depends on the program, the dean, and the stringency of their admission requirements. But, it never hurts to apply, or at least send a short email to the dean of the program and attempt to set up a meeting if possible.

I have just written a book about the acceptance process into CRNA school.

Good luck and good skill. Just keep jumping through those hoops!

Hey gonegray, I'm sure its an accident, but you should reverse the picture on the front page of your website. A picture of a dude intubating with the laryngoscope in his right hand doesnt lend much credibility to your product and it will be the first thing someone will notice.

I also have to say that the book is a great idea, I'm sure there is a steady demand every year for a book that contains that sort of information. For the price, I certainly would have looked into it when I was in the process of applying. I hope you do well with it.

Thanks focker...Left handed intubator maybe?

A bit too late for the post, but I appreciate it.

Michael

Nah, the equipment is designed to be used with the left hand, to sweep the tongue over toward the left side of the mouth and facilitate a view of the larynx. Doesn't matter what your handedness is, laryngoscope is always in the left hand. Somewhere along the lines, your picture just got flipped and noone noticed.

Apply now. I applied and was accepted while I was finishing my BSN and I know others that have done the same. Obviously, if you don't finish succesfully your screwed though.
