Not at all too soon. Many people are already applying. My hospital is already lining up committments for July and August!

Not that everyone HAS to apply so early. ... but if you have your heart set on a particular hospital and unit, I think it is smart to let them know of your interest now so that they include you in their planning. As part of that first contact, you can ask them what they would like as a timetable for interviewing, hiring, etc. Go with whatever they recommend.

Nope, apply now!! This will give you more time to polish your resume. You will also need adequate time to consider all of the offers you receive. I don't graduate until September and my school is already pushing the resume workshops and job fairs. Good luck! :D

I have just finished my job hunt by accepting a position for this June when I graduate. At least half my class is already looking or has accepted positions. I would definitely start now.

With the shortage of nurses and nurses techs there is a great need for your application. Get out there and interview and see what there is to apply for. See what benefits, bonuses, fellowships, reloan payments, salaries, patient loads, educational opportunities, etc. are out there and make a decision. Jobs are plentiful for new and seasoned nurses:D

I think that this is the best time to apply! Don't wait!!!!!! Many places only have so many positions for GN's. (budgets, preceptors, etc, affect how many new nurses they can handle.) If you have a facility in mind or an area that you are most interested in, go to them! Write a resume and take it to them. It just might work in your favor!

I wish you all the best!

If you want a job lined up for when you pass boards start now! Many facilities are already accepting new grads. and all the positions are being filled while others wait around. Be active and start applying now.
