Application to VCU/Hampton/UVA NP Programs

Hello all!

I am pretty nervous because I just finished applying to the three major NP programs near me (UVA’s AGACNP DNP program, VCU ACNP program and Hampton’s FNP program) with my preference being as listed. The problem is this year has definitely been a year of rejection for me as I haven’t even been able to find a new RN position working at either of the two hospitals I currently work at ?‍♀️ I’m thinking maybe this is sign that I also am likely to be rejected from NP school as well ?? 

A little about me: I graduated my associates degree program with a 3.4 GPA and my bachelors RN program with a 3.0 (the highest attainable) and have since gained over 3.5 years experience working as a Med-Surg RN. Ialso work in occasion as charge nurse and help to precept students and new nurses and am a member of ANA. I’m hoping to get a job in the ICU soon and obtain at minimal my PCCN certificate, but feel that that will happen at too late a juncture to bolster my application. Lastly, I know it was waved this year but I took the GRE in the hopes of making my application stronger and scored a 305 ?

Anyone else currently or have applied to any programs? If you got in what did your application look like and how long did it take to hear back from the program?
