Hey all,
Now that all LS branch applications are open... who's applying? I'm super curious as to who else is going to be staring at their email hoping for anything from the program. Literally everyone I was hoping to go to through the program with has failed the HESI and are "planning" to retake it but when I ask for a test date or offer to help them study suddenly they're super busy doing everything else. I don't know if I'm being pushy, but, from where I live, all the colleges that have a bridge program are two freeways and 35- 50 minutes away. I needed to know which campus to put as a top choice!
So, my future classmates... who's applying where? For which program? How scared are you right now?
I'm applying to the bridge program. Kingwood is my first choice then North Harris, Tomball, Montgomery. I've taken classes at Cy-Fair and that drive is killer so I won't even pretend I'm going to apply there.
I'm more than a little anxious right now. I've done the online part of the application, printed it out, I'm getting my FERPA notarized on Monday then dropping the paperwork off at Kingwood and North Harris next week. I'm already shaking and checking my email twice a day.

I applied to the Montgomery campus LVN to RN program, second choice is North Harris. I completed my LVN at kingwood and absolutely loved it. I applied to Montgomery because It starts in June and I am really wanting to get it done. I'm very nervous and excited... Still waiting on my acceptance letter..

will we get a response even if we were not accepted?
I have no idea but this wait is killing me.
I spent 45 reading through the posts from last year trying to figure out deadline and acceptance dates and their deadline was "the Monday after Spring Break" which would be 3/24/2014 and they got emails on 4/9/2014 about orientation then "a few days after" got the actual acceptance. My friend said she didn't hear until the end of April though.
So, best case scenario, if this is just like last year, we might hear something next week. I'm developing carpal tunnel from checking my emails every ten minutes
I'm getting pretty anxious also, My friend said she got her transition letter last year mid April so maybe next week..
With the people in the, I guess "main chat" is an apt description, getting their notification for the Montgomery basic track, I can't help but wonder two things: "Where is my email? And do they notify you if you're rejected?"
They do notify you if you are rejected.. Hope we get acceptance email tomorrow:dead:

Hello all. I just applied at Kingwood for the transition program with a 7.66. I'm hoping this will be good enough. Anyone else on here applying there for the transition this go around?
Yes and no. I applied to Kingwood (first choice b/c of their schedule), Montgomery and North Harris. Due to the different scoring methods, I was one of the few who had a vastly different score when compared. I had an 11.13 / 12 (which is good) for Montgomery and North Harris, mainly because I had all the prereqs and co-reqs with at least a B. My KW score was like 6.7 / 8 because the classes I had a B in were the exact ones that they counted. I kind of blew off writing English essays so I can get high grades in the science classes.
I got into Montgomery and realized that their first day is the day KW *might* send out letters. Turning down a sure thing with a score that I wasn't sure was good enough for a maybe thing with a score I'm relatively certain isn't good enough is about as wise as blowing off a 5 page essay until 7 hours before it's due. I try to limit my bad decisions to one a semester so I withdrew from KW.
That said, I know a good deal of the people that have either applied or are planning to apply once they pass the HESI (another reason KW was first choice) and, if even a fourth of them get in, you've got a stellar group of future classmates.
