Application process

So I've just got a question....

I'm about to go take my NET test, and after reading many threads on the subject, I'm feeling much less stressed. :yeah:

Anyway, I know that once you complete the test and recieve your results, you list the schools you intend to apply to right?

It would seem to make more sense that you physically apply to the schools instead of stating your 'intended' application after passing the NET test.

I'm trying to wrap my head around this timeline here.

1. Pass the NET :typing

2. State intended schools

3. Apply to the schools you 'requested' after passing the NET.

Am I making sense? Why do you have to state which schools you intend to apply to right after this test? What's the point if you have to physically apply anyway?

Any info is greatly appreciated!

To my understanding you take the NET Test where you are intending to apply. I'm applying at ASU and asked them if I could take it at a Maricopa Community College and they said that you have to take it at their facility. So, I think you take it where you intend on applying to. But if you are applying to one of the Maricopa Community College then thats when I believe it doesn't matter, because they all are somehow connected. Hope that helps.

What I had to do was: (1) Pass the Net (make a copy of it for your own records). (2) Fill out the application and turn it in at your first school choice. (3) An email will be sent and THEN you can select the rest of your choices. (4) Wait for your seat....

I am assuming you are wanting to do one of the Maricopa Community colleges.

So, did you take the NET? How was it? How many questions?

Goodness, it's been a while. But, as I recall, there is a book that I studied: The Study Guide for the Net, Hobet, Help. And it was a GREAT resource for me. I posted information on how to study for it in another thread.... If my memory serves me correctly, there were 60 math questions and 30 reading questions. You will have 60 min to do the math and 30 min to do the reading part. The actual test is VERY much laid out just like the study guide- minus the grammer parts. There were no surprises for me after I studied and took the test. The math part had math problems (no word problems or things that would take too long) and the reading part was very similar as well.

PM if you want to know more.

Good luck to you!!! Study well and you will do just fine!!! :wink2:

once pre-re. are done and you take the NET can you state that you intend to apply to both ASU AND MCC .. Obvisouly very different, but it would increase the odds.. does anyone have any information on this???

Maricopa Community Colleges and ASU are two different routes to take and require different (although some the same) pre-regs. ASU is competitive and where as the community colleges aren't.
