what states? Each state is different. Did you have to go through some sort of monitoring in the state you are currently reside in?

Have you ever looked up the criminal history section of all nurses. There is a lot of info in that section

Ok I looked back at your other posts. If you haven't finished your monitoring program you will probably have to start a new program in the new state. Each state wants to make sure you are safe. Even if it wasn't practice related. Be prepared to start a new program and possibly be in 2 state programs at the same time. What does Delaware say about your transferring?

I am just shy of 2 years (and several thousand dollars) into RBH monitoring/Delawares professional monitoring program. I received my charges in 2010 shortly after passing NCLEX and had my license suspended. I took some time away to focus on getting my head straight and relocated to Kentucky. In July 2013 I petitioned the DE BON to have my license reinstated and was given a 5 year suspension that would be converted to a 1 year suspension with a 4 year probation period all monitored by RBH monitoring program and pending successful completion of their stipulations (this included domestic violence and substance abuse evaluation and treatment and drug/alcohol monitoring). I have completed all of my required treatment and in October 2013 petitioned the board to have my suspension lifted to the probation. They were extremely happy with my progress (no issues with my screens) and my license in Delaware had simply been lapsed. I was given the go ahead to complete a refresher course for reinstatement which is not possible living outside of Delaware. They would not approve the KY approved courses and my contact at the DE BON suggested I do a KY refresher course and transfer my lapsed license. I just completed a KY BON approved refresher course and am going through their "checklist" of things that need to be done to submit my application.

I can say I am barely affording the monitoring program I am in as it is but from my understanding with DE they would simply transfer control of my case from DE BON to KY BON. I really, really am hoping that they will simply pick up my probation period where it is and not make me restart all over again. I am extremely anxious but have put a lot of time, effort and money in to get to this point and wont give up now. I have tried several times to reach anyone at the KY BON and have yet to get an answer clarifying whether I need a copy of the sentencing order or the docket of the case... Sorry I know that's a lot...

Does KY know you are in a monitoring program? I left ca program to fl. Ca I had to surrender my license from there diversion 3-4 year program. Diversion is there non punitive program. When we moved to fl (I already had a fl license) I had to start a new 5 year program.

I am almost 3 years into a 5 year program. It has almost been 10 years since my incident. Florida is easier to work with, if I left this state they would let another state with similar monitoring continue my monitoring. But most states would require some monitoring.

Ca now requires most nurses with dui and other criminal history (including psych or drug/etoh abuse) to enter into a 3 year probation.

I havent applied to Kentucky yet so they are not aware I am in a monitoring program. I had planned to submit all of that with my criminal history. The monitoring itself does not bother me but the thought of an extended end point is disheartening...almost like ive spent 2 years worth of time and money for nothing. Im trying not to worry about things until it happens but its hard

In New Mexico, I know, they will NOT accept a transfer etc if you are in any disciplinary program. This was true two years ago, so it may have changed.

Silver bat, it is very confusing how different every state can be on this. I know DE does not care one way or another as long as I continue my monitoring to at least the minimum they had already set forth. Unfortunately I feel like there are so many unknowns and the only way to get an answer to most of them (good or bad) is to continue moving forward in the process.
