Are any of you working as graduate nurse? What hospital are you working and what are some of the duties?

I start at the end of May. As far as I know, I will do everything except take orders and pass meds unsupervised. There's probably more that I won't do, I'm sure I will be pretty much attached to my preceptor's hip for awhile, at least until I take boards at the end of June.

please check out the nclex forum for help with the exam. there are multiple threads there and the nclex exam is not state specific.

With the Graduate Nurse permit in Michigan, you will be doing all that the RN does except administering medications without supervision, and taking verbal orders. All procedures that you would be doing as an RN can be done by you.

But you always need to check with the Policy and Procedures of the facility that you will be at. They may be more restrictive than the state.

You will also just be starting your orientation and that is usually not completed until you have passed the exam and can work on your own. So you will be under another nurse as your preceptor during that time.
