Anyone work as a Student Nurse Technician at the VA Hospital in Baltimore?

No sorry. DO they pay nurses well at the VA hospital?

No, they don't pay squat unless you think 72 grand is bad! They take into consideration all your experience. Stupidest thing I've done in my life was leave the VA now I'm trying to get back in. I'll drive 2 hours to do it but I'm not stopping. No one is hiring. Last application i was up against 50 others.

the benefits are 3 to 4 times regular hospitals and that's no BS. If you can, move to any VA, just get in there and never leave. Private hospitals are for the birds.

did I mention free education? Yes doctorate prepared nurse! Second stupidest thing I've done was stop going to school!

once you get in 2 years probation. once you're permanent appointee you can transfer and your job i secure! If i didn't have kids I'd travel. Everyone at my old va half way across the country wants me back but I've got kids here.

if you're a vet, you have hiring preference.

Hi I'm a first semester student nurse. I'm interested in pursuing a career with the Veteran's Administration. I've been in contact with the VA recruiter in Baltimore, and will be applying for a Student Nurse Technician position at the end of the Fall Semester.
Has anyone worked at the VA as a Student Nurse Technician? Any feedback on that experience would be helpful. I would especially be interested in anyone who started as a SNT and continued their career with the VA. Thanks!
