Anyone waiting to hear from Chemeketa?

I am waiting to hear from chemeketa and this is my only option now. I don't remember my points, but I will looked it up and post it here. I was not able to go to an essay portion either. Maybe, I am already out, but I still have some hope.

This is from an email I received from Chemeketa when I asked the statistics for this year. "We received 227 applications total, this year, 197 were complete and scored for admission. We offered 48 students admission." I think they have 27 alternates.

I also got a rejection letter with all 310 pts but I live in Yamhill County, not their voting district.

I am alternate #15 > Hopefully this will help me get in next year. I had a score of 310. Was invited to and completed the essay.

My letter said 48 accepted, 26 placed on alternate list. No indication of how many applied.

Yamhill County is within the Chemeketa district. Chemeketa has a satellite campus there.

I got my rejaction letter today. I will try to apply next year, but I will need to take CIS 120 and I thought it was 1 credit class, but it is 4. I do not know if it is worth to take it or not. I hope this year will work out for you. Please keep us updated here.

There are other courses that will help you meet the CIS requirement - CIS 101 will do it, and it is 3 credits.

I'm speaking mostly of Newberg, which is in Yamhill county, but not in Chemeketa's district. They pull your address and see where your official voting district is. We vote for PCC's bonds. That is why PCC is building a small outreach campus in Newberg. In Newberg we do use Chemeketa as our library district but apparently that does not count.

I am alternate #4. It seems that no chance to get in according to 2008.

does anyone know how many alernates got in last year for Chemeketa?

I am a PCC student, and it seems like PCC don't offer it. Do you guys know if Chemeketa includes students' winter grades? Maybe next year I will move there in winter and take some classes so I have better chnace of getting in.

You guys who are on alernate don't mind me asking your scores. I am sorry for being noisy.

What were your scorse? Are they letting you know how they gave ranking?

Did they tell about the essay scoring? I am so moving next year there. I am taking PSY 201 now and I just need the CIS 120 and move there.

For now, this is the only hope for me next year. I want to get ready as early as possible.

boogalina-

do you know why you got on alternate? is that b/c you are out of distract as well?

I think I was an alternate because of full score (310) and probably a pretty good essay performance. All I can figure (concerning why I wasn't admitted) is that there were alternates (extra 5 points) and better essays ahead of mine. I live in the Chemeketa district, and had an A grade in BI231.

Hi, KuKu

why don't you try to retake some of pre. courses and try to apply PCC, CCC or MHCC.

I got 310 and I was on #4. I will decline Chemekeda since I got into Clackamas.

good luck. Don't give up!

I know most have already posted their news, but it is with a grateful heart that I say, "I got in!" It is bittersweet though, several of my study buddies did not get in :( I wish the best for you all and say, "Don't give up!" I am a returning to learning mom after 30 years and its been a challenge for sure, and I can't tell you what this means!:redbeathe Thanks to all my study buddies, you rock!
