I am in a predicament. I grad in May 08 and just got my MD license last week but my husband is going back to school in AL (has one more semester) in Jan and i was thinking of going w/ him and taking a RN travel job but by the time he finishes in may 09 i will be out of school for a year w/o experience. So do i go w/ him and get a travel RN job or stay in MD and get a NP job? also we are planning on moving to AL once our house sells.

Too bad there isn't such a thing as an NP travel job. You're moving as soon as your house sells, right? Why not start looking for NP jobs in AL? good luck with your decision. :)

I would look into your new states licensure--I think it is best to get the NP experience sooner than later. I remember when I was close to graduating, I wanted to stay in my current RN job--it was my "safe, comfort zone". But, I kept my ears open and interviewed for positions that interested me.
I am grateful that I did~now looking back.
I had a girlfriend who stayed in her current RN job b/c the $$ was better, but as time went on, it became more difficult for her to find a job. It all depends on your area, too. She was in a more rural setting...
Good luck.
