Hey, just wondering if anyone else is trying to get in at BCTC in Lexington? I applied and am in the waiting game wanted to see if anyone wants to wait with me????? I am about to go nuts I can't stand this not knowing!!!

Ok, today makes twice now that I've heard 1300 applicants! oh my wow!!

Thanks Icantw8 for letting me know about this thread, and YES!!!!!!, I got in also! I'm so excited and I can see all of you are, too. Congratulations to all of you, I know how hard you had to work to get here.

Anyone know/heard when we are supposed to get our packets or when orientation is scheduled?

I heard we are supposed to get a letter on Friday, not sure how accurate that info is, though

I have been extremely nervous, and seriously thought I wasn't going to be accepted...

The funny thing is... When I opened MyBin, I didn't notice "Accepted?: Yes", all I saw was, "Alternate List Number:--"... I thought I didn't even make the alternate list at first... lol

Yep! :yeah:

Hey everyone I received my letter today. Do you all know where to go get all the immunization titers done and around how much they are? I called my insurance and they do not pay for any of it. I did call the health department and was told for the Hep vaccines they are 50$ for each one. I did not think to ask about the titers. Also if you have had the chicken pox but not the vaccines would a titer show up positive? If so I shouldn't have to get the shots right? Sorry about all this my mind is racing and wondering how much money all this is gonna be. Thanks if you have any info on this.:nurse::bowingpur

Which HD did you call? The one here charges $75 for the HepB vaccine (per shot and you need 3), and I'm with you (trying to save)... I was going to call some of the labs around Lexington. Lab Corp does lab work for half price if you don't have insurance and are paying cash. Still waiting on my letter, as I'm not sure exactly what titers I need etc...

I also plan to call a few smaller clinics. I got my TB skin test done for $8 at a small clinic in Powell County. I called the HD there and they said it would be between $35-50 because they had to call an RN in to read the test... They gave me the name and phone number of the clinic, and I got it way cheaper. While I was there I asked the LPN about the HepB vaccine and she said they didn't have the vials... I'll call them Monday, and let you know if I have any luck.

My letter hasn't came yet...

Did you call Kroger's "little pharmacy"?

I work at a doctors office and asked the lady at work about it who works for Labcorp, they would be the best way to go with charging 1/2 the cost if they bill it a certain way. She said that if you have really good insurance, sometimes they will pay, which we do, so I am hoping, but labcorp does just bill you for the remainder, so that would be okay.

It is confusing, she says that she will bill the insurance, then see what happens and can go back and bill it the other way, not sure what the price will be, but I'll talk to her more when I get my letter and let you know what she says.

Ok, I got my letter, so even if I have had the Hepatitis B vaccine a billion years ago, because I am old, do I have to get it again, it doesn't say that we can have immunity titer for that. Geez, this is gonna cost us a fortune!

I'm currently on unemployment and have NO insurance. A friend of mine told me about the "White House Clinic" in Irvine. If you life in Powell, Irvine, or Madison County you may qualify for a reduced fee. Because I live in Clark County (which isn't in their service area), I have to pay the full $80 fee. BUT this includes ALL the immunizations I receive that day. My aunt advised me to go with the immunizations if they were affordable, and then do titres for updates if needed. She said even if we go with the titre instead, there is a possibility the titre will come back negative and we'll have to spend more money on our immunizations anyway...

They couldn't schedule me as a new patient until May 4th, but if anyone is interested the number is 606-723-0665
