Im curious to know if anyone has been or in the Texas Health resources/ El Centro nursing program here in the DFW area. If so, what advice can you give to a entering student. I have been to nursing school before but had to withdraw due to financial reasons so besides it being hard and tough, is there anything other advice I can use right now. I will start in Jan.

Don't wait until the last minute to read the textbooks!!! Practice skills and ask for advice/help. Your teacher really DOES want you to succeed--even if at times it doesn't feel that way. If you have study questions, such as a study guide, use it! The questions for exams often are patterned after the NCLEX questions, so they can help you understand how the test questions are written and how to study/understand. THINKING critically is extremely important. Don't whine during post test review. Test reviews can help you understand, but whining students is a sure fire way to nip those opportunities in the bud. Keep your integrity--if cheating is going on & you know abou it, talk to the instructor/dean/program coordinator. Do you want one of the cheaters to care for you or a loved one some day? If they cheat in school, they will probably cheat in "real life". I can go on & on, but don't want to wear you out!! Last, but not least, congratulations on getting back in & I wish you the best. Your program has the reputation of being a top class program.
