Hi, I'm thinking of taking the LVN program at HCC coleman college and there was one question I forgot to ask at the Info. session. For the Pre-req in the booklet and the papers for the program says that I must have Nutrition and A&P for "allied health" done.
What I want to know is that is there any difference between A&P allied health and A&P I? I e-mailed the lady in charge but she wouldn't tell me. She just said attend the session. But I have to sign up for classes soon. I want to make sure that A&P I, is the right credit for the pre-req since I've already taken that course.
Can anyone tell me if A&P I and A&P for allied health is the same thing? or is it different? I still need to take the Nutrition class and I'm taking that this Fall semester.
Why I'm asking this is b/c in the booklet for the programs I saw the ADN program and LVN program pre-req. Which in ADN it says u must have A&P I done to be able to take the program and for LVN it says A&P allied health. If it's the same thing, why didn't just say A&P I? That just confused me.

If you already have A&P1 you need to take A&P11 so that you will be exempted from taking the allied A&P. For the nutrition, you need to go to colleman campus and tell the people at the front desk that you want to register for nutrion for the LVN..... the will assisst you.... once you are done with this two subjects, and you have your NET, then i guess you are good to go..... in the mean time dont be discouraged by people who say that it is stressfull, just set your priorities right and everything will be fine.... Good luck.
thanks mage, that really helped me out. So i guess im gonna have to take A&P 2 or gona have to take A&P Allied health.
One last Q mage, if u know, can u take Nutrition class at other HCC colleges or is it only at coleman?

Good luck i ahve been there and i quit but guss what i just took my board for lvn
You will need to take their nutrition which is VNSG.... i forgot the number... they do not accept nutrition 1322 the biology based one from the other HCC campuses.... by the way.... I am currently in the program and about to finish, please do not be discouraged, i can see pecpeclvn is motivated to make you not apply to hcc but incidentaly she also indicates that she cleared from that school... just set your priorities right... look forward, and dont be discouraged.. it is not as bad as pecpeclvn is putting it.... I guess test and preferences vary from one individual to another.... I have been okey for the whole year I have been at HCC... if you have any Q's do not hesitate to ask me... i will be glad to help you and Good Luck..
i am not trying to discourage people but gusss what they do not teach in that school most of the time students teach themselves and studentsmake it with a lot of strss i told some one she agured but she drop the the nut and a&p that she is taking telling she will not cope i went good with nuti but had to study as if i am abt to take the enclex Good luck to all as she rightly said it is the individuals as i keep on saying Sanjacinto is better as compare to houston community collage
