I was able to start in the Fall 2013 ADN program through Merit placement. Is anyone else starting this year? What have you done to prepare yourself thus far? Any advice from current/past graduates?

@kdixon123 I'm starting this Fall as well! I recently completed A&P 1/2 and microbiology and since I have previous degrees the other classes were completed years ago. I'm looking forward to only having to take the core Nursing classes. I currently reside in Florida but will be relocating at the end of next month. I'm going to start studying for that calculation and dosage exam so that I may test out. I order my uniforms and am looking for a place to stay....that's about the only preparation I've done. Lol! Are you excited or getting nervous?

I'm starting Fall 2013, too! I took Health Calc already and tested out with a 100. Woohoo!! I did have to study a lot, but once I figured out the way to do it, I was ok with all the calculations. I've taken all my prereqs so I should only have to take my core nursing classes. However, I'm using my Post 9/11 GI bill so I will take other classes to fulfill the credit hour requirement. I also just finished with Pharmacology. That was an interesting class... My advice for that class, study the material, but the tests are all about applying knowledge.

Yayyyyy! Nursing class of 2015! I can't wait to start, and we should be in the new nursing building by Spring, which is huge. @MelissaSilvis, I tested out of AHS126 also, and I agree, once you get the hand of it, it's very easy. Also, Nur105 requires reading the material and applying the knowledge, along with a lot of common sense.Lol! The questions seems confusing at first, but you cannot over think, just read the questions carefully. Yayyy! can't wait to orientation!:)
@jnlaw I have completed all of my sciences, but I was not able to take calculations this summer due to work. I am nervous/excited all in one. Wish you guys the best of luck. Class of 2015

I am hoping to attend in the Spring of 2014, but since I did not turn in my deposit I was moved back and will not start until Fall of 2014 which truthfully sucks but that's okay. That just gives me more time to save up and make sure that my priorities are in order. Good luck to you ladies!
