Tab11 41 Posts Jun 2, 2013 Hi.... I could ask a ton of questions! (I'm so nervous!) I don't know what to expect.Any pointers? What book do you need for the first semester? I'm on a budget and would like to buy it online before class starts. Do you like it? How was your first year? Thanks for replying to me :)
EdenK 17 Posts Jun 2, 2013 Study study study is the most important pointer I could give you. Also get NCLEX review books because they are a big help when studying for tests. Do the questions at the end of each section based on the topic you are learning in class. I'm not sure if they are going to change the books or not so I would call and make sure they are the same as last year. If they are I will def provide you with the names of those books. I got all of my books from Chegg. Overall I do like the school. Our teachers are always willing to help you succeed and pass. There is always someone willing to help you when needed.

Do you know their business hours?I just purchased my stethoscope on Friday morning, online and it was delivered on Saturday. I also just ordered my shoes!!!
Odilia38 15 Posts Jun 3, 2013 Hey Tab11 No I won't be taking the summer class, well I should say I don't plan to take it, bc I'm currently studying to test out of the essentials class. I'm currently a CNA and was asked if I wanted to try and test out. I figured I would. Save some money and time... I called the uniform place, she said their business hours were m-f, 9-5. But for students we must make an appt. so I'm waiting to mayb mid July to get my uniforms and supplies. Wow that was super fast for the stethoscope!

Tab11 41 Posts Jun 3, 2013 Awesome! Good luck! I hope that you can test out....I finally got it touch with the uniform place. :) Are rig going to be working full time during school? Do you know the schedule? I have to sign up and take Chm 102 (at Essex) they didn't have it during the summer time
EdenK 17 Posts Jun 3, 2013 Saunders is great and so is Kaplan. Other than that you don't really need much else besides your books and practicing questions from an NCLEX book. I found myself using youtube a lot especially when we started getting into Medical/Surgical Nursing. Whatever topic or illness we discussed I just looked up an animation on youtube to help me understand it better.
