Hello,
How is the program? is it during the day/night?
Thanks
Hi everyone!
I just signed up here today because I just received my acceptance letter to Regis this evening! I saw that there is little forum on here for people who will be getting in and/or interviewing for the Sept. 2009 class so I figured I would say hi!
Jennifer0512, I hope you hear soon! I interviewed back in December (2 weeks after I sent in my app) and then got a ''waitlist'' type letter from them mid-February. I emailed them a week ago, and then I got the letter today saying I was in! I hope nothing like this happens with you and you just get right in, lol. Keep us posted!
Anyone else on here that is starting Sept. 2009?? :yelclap:
Hi MissPamela... Welcome! Congrats on getting accepted! I just interviewed this week, but I really hope I hear from them soon. I am tired of waiting! I think if I get in to Regis though I will probably go there, even though I am still waiting on some other schools and got waitlisted at MGH. Maybe we'll be classmates in the fall!
Calallily-What do you mean about Regis offering something other than an FNP? I believe they have four specialties. If I get in I will be doing PNP. Were you looking for something specific that they don't have?
I was fairly positive they had other specialty options as well - Family, Peds, Acute/Critical Care, Adult/Psych and Nursing leadership/business management for diverse health care systems (just looked them up in the catalog). I know it uses the FNP track in the schedule of classes for all of the semesters, but I was under the impression you had the option after the NCLEX to choose which specialty track you wanted.
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone...?
No you're totally right. I think they use FNP track for the first 2 years because you have the option of stopping after your BSN and doing the RN thing, which in that case you should have more of an FNP knowledge vs. a specialty. But definitely during the masters you have a specialty and can pick from any of those you just mentioned.
The first 2 years you are in the FNP track, but there are other programs that get you right into the acute care/critical care right away. I think because it is a BSN program they cater to that a little more than other programs do. That was my only concern. I also would prefer acute care, and the only option they have is acute/critical care clinical specialist. The NP programs they have are Family, Peds, and adult psych.
I have also been accepted to Yale, and still want to hear from Simmons. I am visiting Yale this weekend to make my decision there. I still love Regis' program,a nd it would mean that I dont have to move. I am still up in the air.
Ah I see what you're saying...it's such a hard choice!!! I wish I had some good advice, but I don't know. Congrats on getting in to both Regis and Yale though... that's great! Both of the programs are great too, which I guess doesn't make your decision any easier :/
Keep us updated on what you decide!
I got my letter today...I GOT IN TO REGIS!!! I'm so excited!!! I think I'm going to let it in sink in for a week or so to make sure that I don't want to wait to see if I get into any of the other schools, but there is sooooo much I like about Regis that I like better than the other schools that I am thinking I will probably end up sending in my deposit and what not :)
I'M SO EXCITED!!! I'm like bouncing off the walls :hpygrp:
