Anyone planning to apply to OCCC's BADNAP program 2015?

Jessicancox, you may have already taken the TEAS by now, but I just got a study guide from the Metropolitan Library System. It had two practice tests that were really helpful - they're all I studied and I got a good score.

Hi! I am planning on turning in my application next week. I am taking the teas soon as well just studying up. Does anyone of you know if you have a higher or lower chance if you have all the prereqs finished but I won't have my bachelor degree completed until may from OU? I look forward to hearing about everyones feedback and hope everyone gets in!!

Last I heard, preference is given to people who've completed the prerequisite classes prior to applying. However, I'm not sure how it will work if you've completed the classes but not the bachelor's. You could talk with the nursing advisor and she could tell you. Good luck! I'm going to be turning in my application next week too.

I put in my application last week, and am chewing my nails now waiting to hear. They told me notifications will go out 3-5 weeks from the application deadline (Feb 5 I believe). I passed the TEAS, but am finishing up my last 3 prereqs this semester so worried that will affect my application standing. Really excited to do this and crossing everything that I get accepted. Haven't done the CPR yet.

Lizzabet, they told me 4-6 weeks. :-( But, based on the threads on here from previous years, the emails have been sent out around Feb. 25. So fingers crossed it's sooner than later!

I got an email that I was on the alternate list on Friday. I contacted the school to get the low down on what exactly that means. I was told there are 62 spots this year and 56 people had completed all prereqs prior to the application deadline and received acceptance email. Everyone else, including me, was put on the alternate list pending completion of prereqs. That cheered me up considerably. Just have to complete the last 3 classes that I'm in right now and I should hear good things. Have all my fingers, toes and eyes crossed.

Lizzabet, That's great that there are spots left! I'd for sure recommend that you plan to attend the orientation because, from what I've heard, generally several people drop out after hearing all the details.

Are the details of the orientation published on the school calendar, do you know? I definitely want to do that if I haven't been officially accepted prior to that. I just don't know when/where orientation will be held.

I copied this from the BADNAP email. A required orientation is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2015 from 9 am to 5 pm in Room 215

of the Health Professions Center at Oklahoma City Community College.
