Do you understand what "OSCE" stands for? It's an Objective Structured Clinical Examination. The examiners want to see how you perform as a nurse. How you interact with patients, how you collect information from them, how you interpret that information, formulate a plan for providing care and then implementing that plan. There really isn't a good way to "study" for this type of exam, but role-playing practice might be worthwhile. Because they want to know what you already know and how you use it, role-playing is probably your best bet, because that's how they're going to test you.

Let me give you an example of how they might test your knowledge and practice:

You're working on a medical ward of a large hospital. One of your patients puts on the call bell. You go into the room to find the patient sitting upright in bed, leaning forward slightly. The patient's face is tense and he looks frightened. When he sees you in the doorway, he says, "I can't breathe!" You can see from where you're standing that his respiratory rate is high and he's using accessory muscles. You know that he is in hospital for observation due to angina and that he has renal insufficiency. What do you do? (Use the nursing process = Assess, Diagnose, Plan, Intervene, Evaluate.)
