Hey Tsangia,
Congratulations! That is terrific. I've applied to ODPW Spring '09 and am taking my TEAS TOMORROW! So nervous. How did you do on the TEAS? Any advice? Hope to see you on Thursdays next semester:wink2:.
Best wishes!

I have also been accepted into the ODPW program for Spring '09. I have such mixed feelings.. I am so excited, yet nervous and scared at the same time. I feel as if I will have a disadvantage with the ODPW because I am not working in the medical field at this time, I have been a stay at home mom for years!! All my pre-reqs have also been done for years and I am really going to need to brush up on alot!! Which professor did you choose?
I just found out today that I am in the program as well! And am excited and terrified also. I have 2 small kids that I stay home with during the day and work at night in the computer field (been doing that for 8+ years) - so I am a newby to the medical profession too. I'm sure we'll all be way overwhelmed and then somehow pull it all together and get through. My letter didn't mention anything about choosing a professor? Did I miss something? Does anyone know how the hospitals are assigned or what hospitals have open programs for the spring?
All the best!
When you register for the ODPW program there are 2 sections to choose from...Professor White or Professor Zeveney. From what I was told Professor Zeveney does all her clinical in SOCH. And Professor White can vary...I chose Zeveney. Well I am so glad that I will not be the only one starting fresh and not having any current medical background. I look forward to meeting you if you choose Zeveney. I myself have 3 children ages 9,5 and 3.
Hey numby1,
Thanks for the info. I was really hoping for Jersey Shore since I am on the Ocean/Monmouth border. Getting into Brick and TR is not fun and JS is only 20 mins away. Plus having a sick child, I am very familiar with JS as well. I'm hoping to meet with an advisor shortly so I can register for a section soon. My kids are 5 (tomorrow!) and 2 - both boys. I think we'll be even better nurses given that we are already moms.
Good luck to you! Keep in touch.
Good Luck to you too!! So much to do in so little time!! Let me know how you make out with your advisor!! Happy Birthday to your little guy!!

I am not in yet. I hope to apply to their September One Day per Week Class (ODPW) program at SOCH. I should have been quicker with the application. They have a 100% pass rate with the NCLEX RN for the ODPW class.
I am going to take Microbiology Online for the Spring semester. My girlfriend had him for Contemporary Health Online and said he was terrific. Any body else going to sign up for it?
Keep me posted how the ODPW program goes. I understand many Orthodox Jewish women were accepted from Lakewood, NJ. I had some in my A&P class. They are very good students. I was surprized how friendly they were. We had two in our online study group and they were very helpful and really reached out to everyone.
I am getting close to my dream of becoming a nurse.
Thanks
Hi Everyone! I'm soo excited to see there are fellow student nurses here! YEAH!!!!!
I choose Prof. Zevany, I heard she is very good. I think we'll be at SOCH for the first semester
I use to work there as a unit secretary in maternity, it's a nice small hospital, and the cafeteria is very good! LOL:typing
Is anyone taking Nutrition? I decided to wait till the summer!!
I have FIVE children, ages 16, 12, 11, 6 and 3 and a very supportive husband. I work for a Dermatologist in TR, just one day a week right now.
Does everyone have the same orientation date, Jan 8th?
Did you go for your fitting? The shirts of the uniforms are mens button down shirts in an ugly green color, (and I LOVE green) they are uncomfortable, but at least we will only have to wear them ONE DAY PER WEEK!
Can't wait to meet you all!!!:heartbeat
Happy Holidays!
Tammy :)
Hello Tammy,
I am happy to see someone with the same professor!! I am done with the fitting...aren't those uniforms just gorgeous:chuckle And yes, I go for orientation on Jan 8th also. I chose the morning session! Well I am looking forward to meeting you...see you real soon!!

I choose afternoon session, I have to get my kindergartener off to school. Is anyone taking Nutrition with Nursing 1? I'm thinking of waiting till this summer.
What did you guys think of orientation? I think it made me more nervous!
