Anyone who is a neonatal nurse please.

I'm sorry if I asked this in the wrong spot. I am also sorry if you can't understand my question.

I am planning on going to school to hopefully become a neonatal nurse.

So my question is this, when you applied for a job at a hospital did you find it that they rather have you, have a bachelor's degrees over associate-degree and because of that they didn't hire you? Or did it not matter at all?

Because what I was thinking of doing was getting an associate-degree and then find a job and keep working toward a bachelor's.

Specializes in ICU/Critical Care.

I know people who had no trouble getting hired to work with neonates with an ADN.

Specializes in Level III NICU.

There is a NICU forum under critical care nursing, there are lots of threads about interviewing for, getting hired into and working in NICU. But to answer your question, I have an associate degree in nursing and had no problem getting hired. Many of the nurses I work with also have associate degrees. Honestly, you wouldn't really know who has what unless you went around asking.
