Hey there! I am an LFCC pre-nursing student hopeful. I am still waiting to see if I get in. It is nice to see someone else on the site who is in my area.
awesome!!! I have my fingers crossed for you!!!!! Good LUCK!!! This is actually my first semester at LFCC - Do you have any friends that'll be doing the nursing w/ you?? I've found that helps...some support! When are you supposed to find out if you've made it in??
My sister is also waiting on acceptance. We don't get to take many classes together because we watch each other's kids. If you have any questions about the RN or LPN program, I try to answer them for you. I had a very hard time with the process because of LFCC unorganized staff and their lack of communication between departments. I really like LFCC but they really need to work for more success in those areas. I recently took the Nur 27 class which consisted of long term care. It was an interesting class. What classes are you taking this semester if you don't mind me asking?
I hear ya! I'm in the same boat as you....have a few kids too.. I'm excited to start this program. I'm taking Psychology and Sociology this semester.
I've had the hardest time with their Financial Aid Department! I've called for the past 3 weeks almost every day. Not one person had called me until 7 p.m. yesterday! Now they don't know if they'll be able to process my financial aid because of their mistake. I've had to finally call the Director and speak her. Unbelieveable!
Oh- I'm doing one of those classes online, and the other in the evenings... stay home with my children during the day.
I was a transfer student in Dec 07 and I had a terrible time with the financial aid department, the business office, admissions and now sadly, the health professions department. I took Psy 230 online. I really liked that class. I am taking SOC 200 in the summer. Right now I am taking ITE 115 and HLT 130. I needed a lighter load this semester. I was also taking BIO 150 (micro) but it was kickin my tail and I was in no mood this semester to get my tail kicked by microorganisms!!! I will try again this summer:bugeyes:. The best advice I can give you is to go to the school personally and DO NOT leave until they fix your problem. E-mailing and phone are like talking to a tree.:smackingfSometimes,,,I want to yell, "You know! I;m paying for this education in some way, shape, or form,,,so treat me with some respect!!!":nono:. Well....Congrats on our journey to Nursing. We are one of kind folk.
Yeah, I'm taking the SOC online this semester! In class for the PSY.
I heard that HLT130 was a lot of work, even though it's only 1 credit??? is that true?
In the fall I'll be doing ENG 111 and PHI
The HLT 130 is a total of 7 units with with 7 quizzes and one of those quizzes you have to take at the testing center. It is an easy class. There is alot of what I like to call "busy work". You have to type out some defintions and then do a relating worksheet to whatever unit you are on. It is fairly easy. I have professor Atkins online though. On campus maybe different. I don't want to sound like a know it all but if you have taken the ITE 115, you should probably get it out of the way being as it is the only class that is required for ither program (LPN or RN). You can always try to test out of it in the testing center though. I tried 2 times and failed 2 times. It was a pretty detailed test but if you are familiar with the networking part of computers you will probably do better than I did!!! :scrying:Anyway,,I just wanted to tell you that because the class is not listed in the pre-req's however, it is required (or the passing of the test in the testing center) :typing. I don't know if I can wait until May to know if I got accepted. My first choice was the ADN program and ny second was of course the LPN. We will see...:bowingpur

Hi, I live in Warrenton, and applied to the LPN and RN programs at Lord Fairfax. Found out on May 1st that I am accepted into the LPN program. I'm really excited but also very nervous. Good luck!
