Anyone know anything about accelerated nursing programs??

Published

I am currently still in my undergrad years and I am majoring in something non-nurse related (BS in medical anthropology) and I had suddenly felt a change of mind and heart to fulfill a career as a nurse but everyone keeps telling me it's too late for me. I did some research online and I came across some programs called a second degree nursing program or an accelerated nursing program? Does anyone know much about that and it's competitiveness? I'm not the most stellar student when it comes to GPA (3.0) so would it be worth a shot to apply or is it out of the question? Has anyone gone through this program and like to share their experience (it would be greatly appreciated ? )

Could you share which accelerated BSN program you are attending?

Hey guys so I am currently applying to ABSN programs. I’ve only retaken one course for Microbiology lab which was my only C, all my other prerequisites were As and Bs. My overall GPA for my degree plus prerequisites for nursing is 3.6 with a BS in Psychology. I’ve also worked as a CNA in the past and had an internship with a Nurse Practioner at a primary care office. I was just wondering what my chances are as far as getting into nursing schools. I’m applying to FLorida State , university of Florida, university of south Florida university of central Florida, Florida Atlantic and university of north Florida. I really want to get into University of Florida’s

You might do better if you ask on the Florida board, as you're more likely to find someone with school specific info. To navigate there, click on you.S.A on the sidebar, and you will find a board for each state in alphabetical order. Good luck!
