I just finished my Kaplan course and while I thought it was good, I feel like the whole "decision tree" doesn't really work for me. My score on the readiness test went up 10 points to a 73 compared to the diagnostic test, but besides that my scores are so inconsistent it has me worried!
But that's besides the point.. My question was did anyone only use Kaplan and nothing else to study for the NCLEX? My Kaplan instructor told me that it wasn't necessary to use any other material, and as long as I do all the questions in qbank and the qtrainers and score fairly well on them I'll be fine. However I have Saunders (3rd edition) and was just doing some of those questions, and the questions are sooooo much easier and I score a lot higher on the review test, but I feel like Saunders covers a lot more content. I prefer to stick to Kaplan though, but I just wanted to hear what everyone else was doing or has worked for them in the past.
Studying for the NCLEX is a lot more stressful than I ever thought it would be!!! :banghead:
Thank you in advance and good luck to everyone preparing for the NCLEX!! :heartbeat

I'm doing Kaplan Qbank and Q trainers for practice, and Saunder's for content. Already listened to the live lectures from Kaplan. Hopefully after that, I'll be ready, although I do want to go over a bunch of questions after reading Saunder's, as I don't think just the Qbank and trainers will be enough practice.(was considering Suzanne's plan, but may just take the test once and if I fail, then I will.) Btw, I'm not in a BIG BIG hurry to take this test....but I do want to get it over with fairly soon.

I think Kaplan was the best. I bought and read through the Saunder's and the questions, in my opinion, were much easier than the NCLEX. Kaplan questions are harder but more comparable to the actual test. I found myself using the Kaplan strategies a lot during the exam.

I too used Kaplan for questions and Saunders for content. Saunders questions are too easy but it has excellent rationales to review. Kaplan's questions are harder and make you think but the rationales are only so so.
I too scored in the 70's with Kaplan and well with Saunders.
Just found out this morning I passed!
