Anyone involved in Hospital engagement networks or HENs?

I have applied for a position as a patient safety coordinator in a hospital system that is one of the 26 Hospital engagement networks which is part of the Partnership for Patients program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

I wondered if anyone was working in this area and has anything to say about the targets for HEN etc?

Most of the members of the Partnership for Patient Program are organizations not hospitals.. For example, Joint Commission is one the the members which reviews the majority of the hospitals. State wide Hospital Organizations represent the hospitals in your state.

Usually these positions require, training in Lean or Six Sigma training, ability to understand complex guidelines and education lead staff. Most require knowledge to interact with outside vendors such as Joint Commission, CMS, local health officials.

Most positions require the ability to extract data from the EMR for analysis so advanced computer skills are needed.

A certification such as CPHQ is preferred. Being a nurse is often not required, but health care experience is required ( such as a PT, OT, MD, etc).

Lastly you will need a Masters Degree in a related field such as Health Care Admin, Public Health, or Nursing is needed.

It would be rare for one person to have all the preferred experience but the more a candidate has the better shot they would have for the position.
