Just curious if any hopeful that applied after the Nov. group has heard anything. :rotfl:
Could any of you please give me some advice on the CRNA programs in Dallas(hard to get in, etc.)? How many years of nursing experience have you had before applying? I'm trying to decide whether to enter the MSN program right after graduation or just wait a few years and apply for the CCRN program. Thanks.
I too, did not hear from them until January. My first choice was TCU and I was interviewed and accepted within 2 weeks of turning in my application so I am not going to interview at TWU. Both programs have excellent reputations but I was very impressed with the staff at TCU. To those accepted at TCU, if you live in the Dallas area already, please private message me, it would be great to meet some fellow students ahead of time.
Same here. I interviewed at both schools in the same week and there is no comparison between the campuses. I am sure the staff is highly qualified and Dr. Reinke was very nice and asked tough questions. I don't know if many folks know but a lot of the staff that made the TWU program as great as it is are now at TCU. I also would love to meet some students before school starts as well.
I understand that they will start sending out letters in a week or so. Apparently one of the women who works in the front office has been out sick, so they are just a little behind. How much longer are they having interviews? Has anyone else gotten an early acceptance letter yet?
I got accepted to TWU back in November. PM me and we can compare notes.

Congratulations!!! You will like Wesleyan.
Any advice on school and places to live would be greatly appreciated. Not sure about my clinical assignment yet, but I am trying to stay in Fort Worth. If that happens I will be trying to rent a house. I have a family so, that would be my best option. Could you tell me where the good areas to live are? Thanks.

Most of my friends lived at the Eastchase area and Fossil Creek area. I live in the downtwon apartment complex and I like it. It is close to the school. Call the front desk and ask for apartment/housing locator I bet they can provide it for you.
Also, if your chemistry is old I would suggest to take a refresher course. Also, try to contact the front office again and ask them if they our going to offer chemistry class this summer. Last year, I took one and it helped a lot. ( My last chemistry class was in 1986 so I needed it.)
Otherwise, enjoy the summer. Go have a vacation if you can. Regarding A7P and Pharm, they will teach you everything you need to know this Fall.
The hardest, I say this again, the hardest, toughest class would be your Reinke's class. You probably heard a lot of many things about him, let me just tell you one thing.... it is tough. But, get focus and you'll make it.
There is a joke going around Wesleyan students.... welcome to Reinke's World.
I had the same problem with Wesleyan taking so long, but as soon as I found out I got in at TCU I ended that. Someone mentioned the staff that was the core of the TWU program for so long is now at TCU. The fact that TCU is a new program is a little misleading because there's so much experience leading the program. I'll tell you one thing, possibly the single best asset the TCU program has is the Assistant to the Director. She's nothing short of amazing and really, really takes care of the students. She makes our lives SO much easier. Anyway, just my $.02.

Aren't those assistants up front the bomb! They really made my whole interview and application experience much easier as well. They really do take care of you.
I live in the arlington area so I was able to take a close look at both programs and talk to alot of the CRNA in the DFW area. ( Where almost 75% of them are TWU grads). They all had great things to say about both but the one key difference is that TCU just graduated there first class as of december '04. There really isn't a track record for their success, even though Kay Sanders is head at TCU now. Everyone who has graduated from TWU has passed boards and is practicing anesthesia at graduation. TWU is the only school I've seen that puts their boards results on their website. That's enough proof for me that I made the right choice. TCU will be great (if it isn't already), but you have to go with what's proven. Plus TWU is cheaper (smile), which always helps. If you want to do your clinicals in california, TWU gives a stipend and TCU doesn't. Anyway, anyone going to TWU this fall, holla at me and let's talk.
