hi massachusetts nurses! am a graduate (1981) of new england deaconess hospital school of nursing in boston, and was wondering if anyone else went there or knows someone who did...would love to start planning a reunion......
Mother/BabyRN here ( now Mermaid4 due to a glitch in logging in)..Just went to an Deac Alumnae day...There were only three of the class of eighty one, and the event was scheduled on the same day as the Red Sox Parade downtown, so it was a crowded city..We recreated the walk from the Deac to Northeastern and just about died..Nothing looked the same to me and it certainly took us more than the half an hour it used to take. We discovered that one instructor, had recently died, but really didn't learn much more than Beth Israel Deaconess is the official hospital for the Red Sox...Was a neat time....So many things have changed around there....
The NEDH SON has posted a website as of April 2005....go there it is awesome.
The URL address is: http://nedson.org

I graduated from Deaconess in...1975. My class has never had a reunion and since I live in Charleston, SC now it's unlikely I'll ever attend one. Did you join the alumnae association? If you did, you know they have a meeting every year which is where most reunions take place. They also publish a newsletter which has class information. Sorry you didn't get a response from anyone in your class.
HI, I just found this site. I graduated in 1975, ran into a classmate, no reunion planned. Belonged to alumni assoc. , no news of anything in our class. Email me, would love to swap stories from the old days at Harris Hall.
I entered NEDH-SON in 1985... and left in 1986. I ended up becoming a medical assistant and working at NEDH and then BIDMC after the BI-NEDH merger. We used to sneak on the Emmanuel College Shuttle Van to get to and from Northeastern. I think the driver knew what we were doing but since there was plenty of room, he didn't mind.
This fall I start BHCC's RN program. I can't wait to be a nurse (and I've been waiting a long time)!

Copperfields? No can't say that I do. I had an apartment on Comm. Ave after I graduated, not too far from Fenway. I love those old brownstones. Had a working fireplace too. Just a hop on the bus to Deaconess. Yes, it was poor planning on my part, the timing for visiting, but we'll get there before it starts and we'll mainly be on the North Shore. When we leave on the 28th it will be AM before they close too much down. We've been watching the web sites. After being away for five years any traffic is going to look bad to us!
