Hi, ive recently started the process of trying to move from the UK to the US and like many others are a bit put off by the 3 year wait for a green card. :crying2: ive recently heard that there is a plan to recapture thousands of visas which have been issued and never used, im assuming that this is an attempt to ease the retrogression and speed up the wait time :yeah: does anyone know any details, has this bill been approved and if so when would the benefits be seen by the "waitees" any info much appreciated xx:bow:

Things are now on hold until after the elections and new president has been sworn in, even then doubt things will move quickly and depends on PD as many many nurses are in the queue and the last time I saw anything mentioned it was looking at 20,000 visas a year for 3 years which in my opinion will not go far and will depend how they divide them up as demand from some countries are higher than others

This bill is far from being approved, and even if it is; there are many more in the pipe-line from all over the world that already have approval on all of their files and are just waiting for a visa number to be issued to them.

This is not going to open things up for those that are just starting the process, it would not be fair if it did. When demand far exceeds supply, then there is a retrogression.

There is also a limit as to how many visas can be recaptured; there were already more than 60,000 used just last May/June a year ago and that is what caused all of the issues with the open window period last summer and 800,000 petitions were submitted then when there were no visas available.

Notice that the new fiscal year begins each year in October in terms of visas and other government functions and with the new bulletin, things have actually gone back further in time.

lets just be positive on this. and i know God will provide those who wait.
