Anyone got hired through the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Initiative?

Published

Hello everyone!

As the title states- I was wondering if anyone got hired here through the NGG initiative? Did you get hired before getting your license? How was your learning experience?

Would really love to hear inputs on this matter. Thank you.

Hi I started my first nursing job as NGG and they offered me a FT medsurg job after that but I quit cuz I wanted PT. Then I moved to AB and I got another FT job offer... I think PT is harder to find than FT for some reasons

Economics are the answer. Benefits cost money. AHS doesn't want to pay benefits for 2-3 part timers when they can hire one full time nurse.

Hi Fiona, just wondering does AHS give you pension for temporary FT/PT job? If I remember correctly, only casual doesn't have pension right?

It depends. If you go from a permanent to a temp line, yes. If you get hired in as a temp, I don't think so.

Aww I better talk to the HR now, hopefully they'll hire me back after the temp position or I can find a job elsewhere ?

If you hold a permanent line, you go back to it when the temp line ends.

Oh I don't have any offer after the temp position but I'll start looking before it ends or hopefully they'll offer me something ?
