Hi!! I am new here.. I got my acceptance letter to Middlesex County College's nursing program on Easter!!!!!! :) I am so excited/nervous as I have no idea what to expect. I was wondering if anyone else is going there or has gone there and has any advice. Should I read any books over the summer or do anything to prepare? Is there any must have study supplies that I should have? Im freaking out!!!!!! :D

@ njnurseintraining- Congrats on your acceptance into the program! I hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions! What was your GPA when you applied and how did you do on the TEAs exam? I plan on applying within the next few months for Fall 2013 program. Also, did you apply anywhere else?

Hi! Thank you. my GPA is 3.5 and I had a 80% on the TEAS. I had 122 credits when I applied, many of them from Middlesex. It was the only school I applied to.

Hi I know this is an old post. How is the program going. You should be graduating this year if I'm not mistaken

Hi! I just graduated and I LOVED the program. The teachers are all superior and the produce excellent nurses! I feel extremely prepared to enter the work world and begin my BSN journey! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I just got into the program this year, can you please tell me how it is. Im deathly afraid of failing and I heard the 2nd semester is the hardest. What should I do to succeed, and what should I do to make sure I pass the 2nd semester?

Hi. Its not as hard as they say it is. I was so scared of failing the program and I got all A's and B's. If you are a good student, read, pay attention and put in time to study (all the time) then you will be fine! READ the book and study your powerpoints as many times as you need until you KNOW the material. Do as many practice questions as you can AFTER you learn the material. The two years will fly by. The SUCCESS series of question books are very good and prepu is a lifesaver. Congrats on getting into the program and good luck!

What is prepu? And how were the tests? Were the finals cumulative? How were clinicals? I'm honest to god terrified of failing.

Prep u is a program that is provided with books for the course. They will give you the course code on the first day of class. The tests make you think but they are fair and if you study the power points and understand the material an a or high b is definitely achievable. it will take a lot of work but there is no reason to fear failing unless you do not want to be dedicated and determined. The finals were cumulative but mostly on the new material and not bad at all. As long as you understood what you learned and study you will do fine. Clinicals were amazing and nothing to be stressed out about. They are a hands on learning experience and you should take every opportunity to learn everything you can from them. I looked forward to them every week. There is honestly no reason to worry about failing. Put that energy into having fun this summer because you will be very busy for the next two years, but it will be worth it in the end I promise.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate all of your advice! Best of luck in your future endeavors and congrats on graduating from middlesex!!
