Anyone not feel freaked after nclex?

Published

I took NCEX-RN today and it shut off at 75. The majority of questions were priority (who would you see first), some choose all that apply to the plan of care, what would I do first (actions to clinical scenarios), and some pharm and delegation. A lot of charge nurse type questions and a few priority from the perspective from each body system/disease process (best answer and essential actions). The whole way through I was thinking to myself that the type of questions look promising and if it shuts off at 75 I would pass. It took me a whole of an hour and fifteen minutes to complete the test. Then I noticed that I was the first one out.:uhoh21:

Then I come here and I see that is pretty standerd for everyone to feel like they have failed after the test. I am now begining to doubt myself.:uhoh3:

Maybe I never even got to the real hard questions that everyone talks about. Sure, there were always two correct answers. I just went with the one I felt more confident about then clicked the next button.

I used the Saunders CD exclusively and reviewed each category MULTIPLE times and reviewed all rationales including the ones I got right. During the exam I was thinking that "I know that, it was on the CD it just looks a little different."

When I would do a comprehensive saunders test at home I would get between 69-75%.

So what I want to know is: Is possible to pass without feeling like you have failed?

thank you Amy

hee hee hee I didn't know that was you!

I know it's not exactly the same thing as NCLEX-RN, but when I finished nursing school (LPN) I didn't know I was pregnant yet but soon found out after pinning and found myself very ill for months. I didn't sit for my NCLEX-PN for 7 months after graduation. I didn't study during those months either, with the exception of the couple of weeks prior to my test date. I used the Sauders CD review test and passed without a problem at all. I was surprised I didn't have more difficulty after waiting so long, but I did fine. I was a basket case of nerves waiting for the results. They didn't have them online back then. I'm now back to school for my RN so NCLEX is in my future once again.

Unlike KristiePDX, I didn't spend too much time reviewing. I purchased the Saunders RN, but just covered the areas that I thought I needed a review. I based my review on the ATI test results that outlined my weak areas.

I would have been more comfortable if I reviewed the areas outlined in the NCLEX Test Plan. There was an area that I should have studied, but it wasn't listed as one of my weak areas after the ATI test or during our class MedsPubs NCLEX-RN Exam Essentials Review.

However, it turned out alright - I took the NCLEX-RN on 1 June and found out today that I passed.
