Is anyone familiar with Montgomery College Nursing program. I have been accepted for the fall semester and just trying to get as much information as possible. Tryingto make probably the most difficult time in my life less difficult. I heard nursing school is very challenging and I want to do well like everyone else. So I think this board is a start for me. Trying to get as much info as possible. So can anyone lend a helping hand with this. Any knowledge is better than no knowledge thanks.

hello

Well thanks for the information. It is very nice to know that you are about to graduate. I will keep that in mind in terms of having questions for you. I will definitely send you a message.

Just curious what were your grades like to get accepted and what classes were your prerequisites...

MsDanny,

I transferred to MC from a school in FL. and my grade pt average was 3.86. I had taken A&P 1 &2, Math prereq, English 101 & 102, Psychology, Sociology. I had not taken Microbiology, art, humanities, or Chemistry prior to my acceptance. I also did not take general Biology because it was not required at my school in Fl as a pre req to A&P, so they did not make me take it when I transferred here.

Well I have an A in both AP I and II and B's in the other courses..Do I even stand a chance...

Sure!! They look at your grades but also how many prereqs you have completed and it also depends on when you apply. I think the Fall has more applicants, so if you don't get in once just try the next semester. It is competitive though and there are always alot of applicants. I think with the economy the way it is, alot of ppl are deciding to go into other jobs like nursing. Good luck!

I graduated from montgomery college in may 2009. I passed my boards on august 6th. My advice is just to take the advice that professors give you and you will be okay. There is a lot of studying and paper work but you can handle it.

I had a horrible experience at Montgomery College in Spring 2009. I have a graduate degree and several years of professional experience. I was in the first semester and my clinical instructor (Robin Flanary) made it clear that she was going to fail me regardless of what I did. I honestly think it is because I am guy with an education. I finally complained and took it all the way to the director of nursing (Nubile). She gave the me the option of either mediating or allowing me to drop and repeat the following semester (this way I wouldn't have to sit out a semester). So I dropped. When I contacted her over the summer about re-enrolling for the fall I was told that I had "misunderstood."

Last week I filed a complaint with the college. A copy fo the complaint is scheduled to be posted on the website: www.montgomerycollegenursing.com in the next couple of days. I think you can probably get a descent education there but you better figure out who to avoid. And if you have problems, don't count on anybody bailing you out.

i'm trying to apply for this Fall 2010, is it possible to get in with a GPA lower than a 2.5? Let's say I score a very high percentage on the TEAS, completed all the core courses (BI 203, 204, 205, MA 110, EN 102, SO 101,..etc.) is there a possibility of getting denied?

I think that you have to have a GPA or higher. There is a possibility of trying but your best bet is to take one of your pre-reqs over and score higher. Thats what I did. I just took one of my electives not the science over English and scored an A which bought my GPA up. You can always call the school and ask they are very good with answering the phone and answering questions but I do believe you have to have a GPA 2.5 and higher thats a given. Good Luck but again it dont hurt to try.

Do know of anyone who got accepted in the Montgomery college nursing program with a teas score in the 70's. I am nervous about retaking the test and the application deadline is coming up in a couple weeks. I know with Montgomery

ery college the teas score is very important.
