Anyone fail with 75 questions??

I know this really doesn't answer or prove anything as far as NCLEX,,I just want to know..maybe it will ease my mind just a little or confirm my fears that I failed.

Just curious??

Sorry I can't help you any, but I also got 75 questions yesterday when I took my NCLEX-RN. I've been checking the BON website compulsively ever since. I think I would feel better about my test if I hadn't gotten any calculation questions, but I got 4. What was your test like? What styles of questions? Good luck, and I'm sure you did fine. I keep telling myself that I know I studied hard enough that I wouldn't have failed in 75 questions.

Hi there i had 75 questions and did not pass:bluecry1:, and yes i studied really hard. But that does not mean you didn't pass. Just have hope and stay positive. I retest in mid aug and i'm am going into it next time with a whole new attitude. GOOD LUCK:nuke:

I had one math, and a ton of SATA, a lot of meds and priority. Then I had some basic knowledge stuff to that I got wrong!!

ie. cleft lip stuff, chest tube stuff, trach care, basic stuff that I should of gotten and didn't. I am pretty sure the SATA ones I got wrong b/c they are really hard.

I studied so much but it seems like that wasn't enough.

How did you feel after you took your test? Did you know you failed or had a feeling? Did you remember getting a lot wrong?

Did you have a lot of SATA?

I got some pretty dumb questions wrong also, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they were apart of those "15 throw out questions" lol. Everytime I got a new question I was hoping it was an SATA (a little piece of me feels that those mean ur doing really well, but I know it's just another questions format), and everytime I got a med calc, I cringed. I just can't wait until tomorrow to finally find out my fate! Those questions were just so random...stuff I didn't read in any of my review books!

SATA questions are only a format style, they do not determine anything else just by being that type of question.

All that test will get 50% correct and 50% incorrect; it is the level that you are answering the questions in that will determine if you pass or not.

Everyone comes out of the exam feeling like they did not make it.

85% pass the first time, so it is in your favor that you did.

Best of luck to you.

Well immediately coming out of the test i honestly did not feel like i had failed. I thought humm that wasnt that bad, i didn't think it was all that easy either but i didn't think it was the worst test i had ever taken. So after time passed i started feeling really bad b/c i remember the hurst review lady saying if you didn't feel like it was hard you prob knew your material or you stayed in the lower level quest. Well i kept telling myself surely i didn't do that bad for them to shut me off at 75q. I knew i knew enough to at least get more than 75 if the computer doubted me. But I obviously didn't. Needless to say i was extremely nervous during my test and answered without thinking, i mean i knew the answer to a lot of the quest but picked a different answer b/c i thought they were trick quest. (How stupid of me). So anyway my feelings about the test went back and forth until i finally got my results and even then i kept saying this has got to be a mistake, i know i knew enough to at least keep going past 75q, surely i didn't fail at 75. But i had to accept the fact that i did and move on. To the quest do i remember getting a lot wrong. Like i said yes, i knew i picked silly answers b/c i thought well that's way too obvious; they think i'm going to pick that so i'll pick this answer. That was not a smart idea, to think they were trying to trick me. There were plenty things that looked familar to me but i just didn't go with my gut feeling. As for the SATA, i can remember getting anywhere from 6-10 but im not real sure. I know it was not a whole lot, but enough. I know people say they get like 25-30 and pass, but some get maybe 5-10 and still pass so i really don't think that matters much. I do remember getting tons of teaching, like which pt would require follow up if they stated the following or which statement if made by a pt would require call back. I had a lot of those type questions. I had about 3-4 math, quite a few meds, very little mang/deleg, and a handful of prioritization and quite a few infection control (this was mainly in my SATA) so i'm sure i got all those wrong. But anyway everybody's test is different so if your test was similar to mine Please don't think you failed. Just have Faith that you Passed and Good Luck to you. If you have anymore questions please ask. Keep in touch, let us know how you did. And again Good luck:nuke:

I too had 75 questions and failed. I'm not sure what happened because I did several thousand practice questions before the exam and was an average student in nursing school (not great but never "on the bubble"). So...I've picked myself up realizing that is does and can happen and hope that this makes me a stronger person.

I know I will certainly value my license that much more after I pass Nclex-Rn in October!!:nuke:

I just took my RN test and it shut off at 75. After reading these posts I feel even worse than I did right after the test. I drew a complete blank on how to do calculations!! All but one of my calculations were mcg/kg/min and wanted to know mg/hr. I had alot of "select all" that I know I messed up on. I felt I wasn't doing very well while taking the test and thought to myself, "well, I'll probably just have to take more questions than the minimum." Then it shut off at the minimum. So far only 2 people in my class of 42 have failed and they were students where were always barely passing school. Alot the students that I know passed took all the questions and only a few took the minimum. It took me 2 hours to do 75 questions which is not typical of me. I went into the test confident but I think those calculations really made me lose confidence and it was all downhill from there. I'm praying I passed, but I'm not not feeling very confident at the moment.:bluecry1:

camnolan- What kind of questions did you get?

emmylou686- When are you taking the NCLEX again? What have you been using to prepare in the past?

Tonight is going to be a loooong night!!! I have no idea of how to tell whether or not my questions were high or low level?!? At least I know I got all of my med calcs correct (not happy that I got 4 of them).
