anyone ever worked at rady childrens hospital in san diego, ca?

Hey guys!!!

So I am getting ready to begin this traveling adventure this upcoming month...I'm nervous and could use some advice from seasoned travelers. I am a peds med/surgical nurse and the job offer I'm considering is at rady on the ortho floor. Has anyone every worked at this particular hospital and/or unit? If so what did you think about it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

Also I bought highway hypodermics to begin reading I hear it has some helpful advice especially for first time travelers...what did you think of this book? Helpful or not?

Hi,

I worked in the ER there earlier this year. It was my first time doing peds since I graduated. I mostly work adult trauma. The ER was always crazy, so i imagine the floor will also be busy. The pay wasn't great in San Diego compared to other areas in California. San Diego is a great place so I hope you enjoy it :)

I liked Highway Hypodermics. I also recommend the Delphi forum online for info like here. I also read a book about travel by Padgett (can't remember the title - that was good too.)

Whats Delphi forum? BTW how did you get your assignment at Rady? I am looking for any travel assignment to San Diego but I dunno how to start.

what is your opinion of Rady's ER? I was offered a job there but have no peds experience. Do they treat travelers good?

everyone was helpful and the ER was well staffed. the only complaint was the rotating schedule
