anyone ever turn down Baylor and why?

Had my interview and was totally impressed w/ the program, but *not* impressed w/ Houston in the slightest! Maybe such a big city is off-putting to me...I know "where" shouldn't really matter, since I will be holed up w/ my books, not out experiencing the city... :icon_roll

Anyway, just curious if anyone out there got accepted to Baylor but chose another program, and why! Thx in advance for sharing!

Did you hear back from BCM already? They are a wonderful program, but if you don't feel totally confident in the "whole package", just think about it really hard before you accept. Did you get into other places that you felt better about? Where are you from?

Have not heard back from Baylor, but have been accepted elsewhere and need to let them know by Th. Naturally, there are things I like and dislike, or rather, am unsure about, regarding both programs. I just want to be able to make an educated decision, **if** it comes to that. Who knows - I may not be accepted to Baylor, and the decision will be made for me! :specs:

Right there with ya. Did you interview yesterday? I did. I have TWU and TCU both rushing me...lol. At least we have options! If I'm lucky enough to get in to Baylor, I will go there. I live in Houston, and wouldn't have to move that way. If not, I'm pretty sure I'm going TCU. What didn't you like about Houston? How long were you here?

Just there 2 days - have family in Katy, but there just wasn't any time to get together. I applied to TCU, too, so I am TX bound (from MO), 1 way or the other!

If you didn't live in Houston, would Baylor still be your 1st choice? I was so impressed with - and intimidated by! - their program. I don't think their clinical exp can be beat...

Yes, Baylor is quite impressive. Great reputation all over, too. If I lived in Fort Worth, I would choose TCU. However, if I lived where there was no program...I think I'd have to go BCM. It's a tough one, though, and I'm biased. All of my fam is in the Houston area, and I don't really like Fort Worth (although I love Dallas.) You come out with the same credentials, either way. Both schools have great pass rates. TCU may not give you AS MUCH clinical experience, but they make sure you get enough...and that's the bottom line. The BCM program is probably a little more challenging during both phases. They probably have a tougher schedule during Phase II with all the call. It's a tough one!
