Okay, so last fall I started a nursing program at a community college. I missed the final passing grade by a little over a point, and was not allowed to come back for the second semester (yep, I screwed myself by not asking anyone in my family for help).
So this year, I have my son in daycare for 1 more day to help with the overload of homework, my parents have said that they are actually going to help this time, and my son's father is back in our lives and will be helping with child care. I was accepted into another nursing program (thank God!) and start in the fall.
So my question is, has anyone ever failed out the first time and gone back?
If so, what is your opinion on it? Any comments? Nervous? Because I'm so much more nervous now than before since this is my SECOND time; I feel like I have more pressure on me because I messed up the first time!

I can't speak from experience but IMHO if you have done a self evaluation and figured out where your weaknesses were (i.e. inadequate child care so you couldn't focus on your studies, not following up with your instructors when you need clarification or assistance, not showing up on time, inadequate note taking, not pre-reading for a class...) then you should have no problem whatsoever being successful in your second time around.
Those that continue to fail, have not bothered to figure out where they "went wrong", blamed everyone else under the sun, and then repeated the same mistakes again. Those who fail to learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them for all eternity...to paraphrase a quote I once read. Good luck.
It sounds like you know what you need to do this time, have the self-confidence to go forth and achieve.
