Is there anyone else out there who is currently studying for the CCRN exam and would like to start a thread as perhaps a study and support group? I have just applied for the exam and have not yet set a date, but about in 3 months is when I will be taking it. I would love to be in communication with others in the same boat! I hope there is at least one other nurse out there! Thanks!

Thanks! The passing grade for CCRN is 70%, isn't it? I still have a lot I need to study - esp endocrine, GIT, renal etc.

It is 10 years since I graduated from my critical care course - luckily my specialty is cardiothoracics, so I'm pretty sorted with cardiac and respiratory.

Yes! Thats correct 70% is passing. 150 total questions and 25 are not counted. Those 25 are a pain in the patootey!!

Laura G is my girl! :redbeathe:redbeathe

I just got my results and her materials (cd's, book and Pass CCRN) helped.

I also did study a lot.

Good luck to all going for it. You can do it.

I hear ya armyicurn, I think Dr Laura rocks. Wouldn't you love to have her as a coworker? With all her knowledge and degrees etc, she is still a nurse's nurse. She is such an advocate for the bedside nurse. I wish she would update her CEN course, even though most of it is still pertinent.

70% is passing? Really?

My notification letter says 87...

What gives?

Specializes in Cardiac.
Don't forget about that pacep.org site. Have you gone through that one a time or two? You are probably overthinking your specialty, cardiac, that would be my guess! You are going to do fine.... just get fine-tune those picky cardiac questions, it is the hardest part of the exam.

YOu can do it!!!! :yeah::yeah::yeah:

I don't work in cardiac! I picked my stupid screen name when I thought for sure I'd be a cardiac nurse. I am really not a fan! But lately I've had no choice as my last few weeks of pts have been cardiac pts. I went home and reviewed Laura's CV videos, and had a minor epiphany! Now, cardiac isn't so bad...

So, I haven't actually watched all of her videos. But I think I will watch them all, and then retake the test and see how I do...

Well, I had to mention that so you wouldn't think "gees, why is a cardiac RN getting 50% on her cardiac portion???"

Lol.

Can you imagine if I worked in a CVICU and I sucked that bad at cardiac? :redbeathe

If I recall, you were getting 80% or better on your practice exams correct?? Then I promise you, you will do fine. As a matter of fact, I would suggest you figure out what you are going to do to celebrate and reward yourself!!

If you know those rationales, you will PASS!! If in doubt, pick the longest answer....:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat

Hey folks I'm studying for the exam too! I plan on taking it late May or early June after I get settled moving. I got my best score since starting the CCRN review. I got 117/150 questions...78%! I'm pleased since I've been getting about a 65% right off the bat without studying. Reviewing the material is starting to pay off. It's nice to have support! Good luck all!
