Hello there, it's been awhile since I've been on here. I'd like to know if there is anything I should get my hands on to read or take practice questions prior to my LPN program. I start in October, I'll go to school at Academy for Nursing and Health Occpations in West Palm Beach Florida . I'm a CNA as of 2009 and been working in a SNF/LTC facility for 7 years. Looking to further my education as a nurse. I have a NCLEX PN book a fellow nurse gave me. I have been practicing on the dose calculations, but as far as med-surg or anything I should be doing prior in my spare time at home please recommend.
I've been working as a unit clerk/cna mon-fri 6:30-2:30pm. My program is from 5-11pm mon-thurs. I'm going to work full time and go to school full time. If I don't succeed I'll have to drop back my hours and go back to the floor as a cna. Any advice?

You do not start school until seven months from now. Any studying you do for an LPN program at the present time will not be in the proper context or background.
My advice is to enjoy your life right now and not worry about study materials or books to look at. It is even too soon to be looking at a NCLEX-PN study guide.

I'm reviewing math, anatomy, and physiology, but it's a review of classes I've taken before, a review of things I'm already familiar with.
Studying ahead on anything? Nope. If I start looking at all the unfiltered information related to nursing and I'll just have panic attacks.

Don't stress about the program or study material just yet. October is a long way from now so just enjoy life right now while you're not in LVN school right now. I remember when I first started LVN school in October of 2015 all I did was work, spend time with friends, even went to Vegas for a Bachelor's party (I didn't get married), etc. I did things with people close to me because I know time will be limited once I started LVN school. Don't think you will not succeed because you have every opportunity to succeed. So just sit back and relax and enjoy life because once your program starts you will spend most of your time in school or and at work with limited time for family and friends.
Thank you very much for all the replies. I'm looking forward to becoming one of you. â¤ï¸
