Hi I was just placed into SCC traditional option for this fall 2010 after waiting nearly 2 years. I was just wondering if there is anyone else out there too? Also if anyone that is currently in the program could give me any info about the schedule, and maybe what to expect. I love to plan ahead so any insight would be awesome.

I was placed in SCC traditional as well! You are exactly like me...trying to get things planned ahead. I started looking at the school's bookstore list for this semester and to see if any books are listed. If you go to NUR 151 (spring semester) section 50784, there are books listed there. Of course i'm not sure if they are going to be the same for fall but perhaps it would give us a little something to read and get started on for the summer...
LOL...what I really want is the orientation packet that will hopefully be sent out as we are placed into the programs..but from what the nursing site states....some packets may not be sent out until later, depending on the schools. ....ugh...
I'm excited that there is someone else on here who will be in class with me! YAY!
NICUpca -
Have you heard anything from SCC? They don't have any of the classes listed for nursing to register for classes....hmmm...I don't know if i'm worried over nothing...and they register us?
I called the SCC program today and I was informed that they sent out the "welcome, orientation packets" today to those who have been accepted into the SCC program.
Oh, i'm so going to be hunting down the mailman tomorrow! LOL...it probably won't get here until Sat or Mon though.
I had called to find out about scheduling the class we are suppose to register in because it isn't listed on the mymaricopa even though fall registration started and this was the answer they stated.
"The packets will have all the information you will need including registration for NUR 151 and welcome to the program!"
I received my packet today with information on what we'll need to bring at the first meeting on May 3rd! It's quite a list!
I just scheduled my annual physical, tb test today with the doctor...so that should be no issue.
I have a CPR/First Aid card but as it turns out...it's not a health care provider card. So...i'm going to have to get that one scheduled into my calendar to get it completed.
Oh i'm sooo nervous!!
Our schedule looks pretty decent though...
Monday - off unless a test is scheduled for that day.
Tuesday - 10:30am to 4:30pm
Wednesday - off
Thursday - 8am to 4pm
Friday 9/3 to 9/17 - 7am to 4pm - lab only
Friday 9/24 to 12/3 - clinicals
YAY! very happy this came today!!!

You're so lucky!! I want to receive my packet too. I got in MCC @ Boswell. I can't wait until I get my schedule....
Isn't the orientation in August? What is the first meeting for in May 3rd? I'm just wondering because I want to go to a meeting too but I'm attending Mesa @ Boswell, hopefully they have a meeting as well. LOL
Hiya Lovebum (love the name by the way! lol)
Yes the official orientation is in August. SCC is having an "initial" registration orientation on May 3rd. I'm sure that you'll hear from MCC - Boswell soon. I believe it depends on how many have accepted their placement or if they have their paperwork ready to mail out.
Keep in touch and let me know how you feel about your program. Boswell was one of my choices as well.

Okay, that makes more sense. I was wondering if they were going to do that hopefully Boswell will do it as well.
I'm excited and I can't wait to get my packet as well. Yes, I will definitely keep in touch as the program progresses.. Good luck to you!!! :yeah:
Thank you! You too!
