Oh my GOD!! Sorry, but as I was headed down I 35 tonight on my way to work in Dallas...what a nightmare...all was fine until 5 miles before my destination..then all hell broke loose - every access road was flooded. Some worse than others...some only had about 8 inches of standing water...others, well, let's just say that all you saw of the SUV was it's luggage rack
I eventually got close to work...but had to walk thru flood waters for about 1/3 of a mile. This poor teenager got stuck behind me so I took her in as well, thru knee deep water in a parking lot. UGH!!
It's funny though, after walking all that time (no shoes or socks), I was actually getting used to the water being that cold...but I sure don't want to be doing that again.
Just went to get the car...no more flooding...YAAAY!! Amazing how all that water can come and go so quickly.
All is well.
Have a great night all.

No, but...I did get flooded this morning on my way to work. The rain was cold too, whew it went right through me. I'm a person who doesn't ever wear a coat and I had on a shirt, a sweatshirt and a heavy sweater and even socks. So totally unlike me. There's a joke in my extended family. If she has socks on there must be a blizzard outside. I'm always in my birki's barefooted. I'm getting off-topic now. Sorry but yes I did get flooded & frozen this morning!

every time i have gone down to houston it seems like the sky opens up and it pours. i have never seen a big city like that flood to the point where you cant even drive ..... or even contemplate driving. then to my amazement one to two hours later most of the flooding is gone.
i've experienced the same thing since moving to the houston area. i grew up in florida, so i am familiar with heavy thunderstorms; however, the streets never flooded up like it does here. oh well.....better the streets than my house! lol
to true, i never thought about the houses flooding ..... man that would suck
