Anyone currently in the Excelsior bridge program?

Published

I am just getting started taking the RN program through Excelsior, just curious if anyone else in this program as well. I take my first test in 2 weeks & curious as what to expect.

Hi all,

I too am seriously considering the Excelsior program for LPN to RN. Does anyone know if the Board of Nursing in in Minnesota accepts this college? Any Minnesotans who have taken this route?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know they do. A few people on this board have sat for NCLEX in Minnesota, to endorse into their own state.

Nursingstudent 543~ thanks for sharing the info... I am definately going to call and talk to them, I haven't sign up because I want to take Health Safety and Transition prior to enrolling... I have a question did you purchase any study guide? if so which one Lisa's note or Groupstudy?

Let me go call Excelsior now....

I actually did not purchase any other materials for the nursing courses. I just went by the course outlines that excelsior makes available for you. For some of the nursing courses, I didn't even purchase the books. I was freshly out of lpn school. I just looked at the course outline, reviewed some concepts (using my lpn books or a nclex review book) then i took the practice tests. If I got a decent score on the practice tests then I knew I was ready and went ahead and took the test. For the other exams I took (like Microbiology) I purchased the book that excelsior recommended. I also got one of those Microbiology for dummies kind of books because it was a hard class to do on my own and it helped explain some of the concepts.
