Anyone attending or planning to attend Galen Fall 2016?

Published

I just wanted to start a thread for Fall 2016 at Galen. I'm planning to start in September (assuming I get my acceptance letter soon). So far, I'm loving this school's customer service compared to Polk state where I'm coming from. Very helpful, my credits will be transferring over, very proactive; I'm pleased for the most part. Feel free to jump on this thread!

I did get accepted and had my enrollment appointment last week. At the appointment, they basically went over my financial aid package, I got to try on scrubs, and take my pic for my student i.d. Also, I got my voucher for the CPR certification, immunizations and drug test. I believe orientation is on September 26th but I would double check that. Schedules should be posted to the portal towards the end of this month, so very soon.

Congratulations!! I will be starting the LPN to RN hybrid in Sept as well. I have my financial appointment next Tues. I will be taking college success and computers first semester. Did you get a syllabus yet and if so are these classes strictly online or do we need to go to campus at anytime?

I'm in the PN program so it can very well be different as far as online classes. There are no online classes offered to me. The syllabi is offered online on the Galen site but they are subject to change per the instructors. Here's the link: Campus Syllabi – Resource Center

I just did my enrollment appt.this week. And I'm getting very excited. I'll be looking forward to seeing you all at orientation :)

Which program are you going to be in if you don't mind me asking?

Specializes in Peds, Med-Surg, Disaster Nsg, Parish Nsg.

Your thread has been moved to the Nursing Schools / Colleges forum where the other school specific discussions are. We hope you will receive additional responses in this new location.

Anyone that started the Galen College of Nursing Tampa ADN program, can you please share class schedule (times and days)? Thank you. I am applying to January 2017 and I am taking the PAX on Oct 4th. Unfortunately, my science courses are over 5yrs old so retaking them. Also, please share experiences so far. Thank you so much in advance for reading and responding. Best of Luck for those starting school the Winter Session =)

Hi, are you in the ADN program. Mind sharing class schedules (times and days). Thanks. I will be traveling from Orlando for January 2017, of course after passing the PAX, lol. How is the school so far, experiences? Financial Aid? Thanks!

Whoa! Orlando?! And I thought Winter Haven was far! Lol. So far I'm pleased with the school. Had orientation Monday and I start tomorrow. I'm doing LPN but I have a friend doing ADN and so far the only difference is the schedules of course. I'm doing the day program. I start clinicals next week but for the ADN program they start 2nd quarter. Financial aid has been so helpful for me! It was a breeze and fairly quick. Everyone is so nice. If you have instagram follow me: nurse.lulu.2b

I'm constantly updating pics and details regarding my experience as a nursing student at Galen. Good Luck to you!

Hey, lulu!

I am starting the ADN program on Jan 2nd 2017. Do you have any idea of what days/ time the Anatomy and Physiology Class start? Labs? Thanks! Maybe you can ask your friend who's in the ADN program, I know you are in the LPN. Thank you also for the heads up on Instagram. I am currently one of your followers =D.

Very Respectfully

Why thank you superchick! As far as class times for the ADN, I know it's very different because I have been told from the administration people that the LPN program is much more intense just because it's alot of info crammed at once. I have a friend that just started the ADN program and she only goes once or twice a week. I go 5 days a week 8+ hours each day. Sorry I wasn't much help :( And I already have all my RN prereq's so when I bridge over, I'll have those under my belt. I have lab twice a week. Not sure how often the ADN people go. Again, sorry I'm not much help on the ADN stuff.
